One of the advantages of the cat-back option is that there is no butchering required. The middle section and backbox are all in one piece on the 172 exhuast, so for a backbox-only theres gotta be some cutting.
Is £299 a good price for supply and fit? A mate of mines thinking of getting one and thats the best price hes found so far. Are they Thatcham cat 1 or 2?
Thanks,
Mike.
Update on Demon Tweeks price for the Pipercross element - list is £32 + VAT but we get 10% off for Cliosport, so all told £37.42 including VAT and delivery. Part number is PP1530.

Which I suppose proves, quite rightly, that the customer is king! OK theres a certain amount of logic and a certain amount of emotion in this, and a car is an expensive and long-term commitment. The same doesnt hold for a 4-pack of Stella or a carton of 200 B&H bought from a French hypermarket...
Nick I really wish you hadnt posted that m8. Ive spent all weekend thinking I should be at that show down south, and this just makes it worse. I wish Id married a girl who didnt like shopping and never had birthdays!
Go to dealer:
Say: my car doesnt seem to have much oil. Is there a problem? Act like a consumer complaining about a washing machine. With any luck theyll top it up for you for free (they did mine!)
An oil & filter change at a main dealer will cost the thick end of £70.
So maybe we should turn the question around: 2 used cars, same condition, same miles. How much more would anyone pay for the UK supplied one? Dont get me wrong here - I bought mine from a UK dealer and therefore paid more than most, but I know that a better looked after import would fetch more...

This import stuff seems completely irrelevant where a Clio is concerned. There are cars, a lot of them Japanese, that never made it to the UK (Mitsubishi FTO is probably one of the most popular). I can see the problem with these kind of imports as getting parts may be difficult and therell be...
Daipac just make sure you use a proper Renault filter. 172s seem to use a shedfull of oil in the first few thousand miles, then they use practically none at all.
