I use the PC to deep clean glass, won't sort out scratches though. Glass polishers use Jewellers Rouge, and front.co.uk sell a kit that goes on a drill, in most cases deforms the glass removing the defect and new bit of glass is the only real option.
Dee (deedee) on here kindly let me drive her 172 up the course at Prescott Hillclimb yesterday at the the Peugeot Clubs National Day. I am glad I cleaned it now first ;)
Some pics a mate captured with my camera, sorry about the heavy watermarks they are in the gallery with the rest of my pics...
Some use Scratch X by machine but when there are proper polishes designed for machine use you may aswell use them IMO. You could use it to get you through until you get some.
The Onyx should have the edge on the P21s but not by much. The main advantage is it will outlast the P21s, and even after a wash it will look as it was just applied. With P21s I found myself having to apply a coat after a wash to get it to look as good as it did pre wash.
2 black cars to do swirl removal - that is the justification to buy a PC if I ever saw one. As above you will be lucky to much succesful swirl removal without a shed load of elbow grease and then results will probably still leave you not 100% happy.
Working By hand though.
Wash: Duragloss Wash...
Before you dress the trim I would clean and wipe it down with some Autoglym Interior Cleaner first.
AG Bumper Care on textured exterior trim, Einszett Vinyl and Rubber on the smooth stuff.
The 50/50 seems to get better reviews, looked ok on Black Gold, not bothered with the Pete's here. Swissvax Onyx looked loads better so is worth the extra cash IMO.
I need half a day of dry weather to finish polishing and sealing mine -then there is all the other bits to do. Though after spending a day at a show in the rain all day today will be skipping FCS if it is raining as it is no fun.
Megs 80 despite the name is a polish. Used over EGP and it will strip it right off.
I would go for Chemical Guys 50/50 rather than the Poorboys or Collinitte
I would get both.
A coat of Megs 7 over the EGP should not strip it, then seal the look left by the glaze with a good pure cleaner free carnuba wax. Extra step but worth it.
Taking the old one off will be the first challenge, hairdryer and some Autoglym Tar and Adhesive remover. New one will already come with the sticky backing on it.
Nice one - Was nice here tonight but beer and curry seemed more tempting than polishing the lower half of my car, will regret that when it rains all weekend now though lol! Need a garage big enough to work on the car in.
Only reason I am going ...
Arg right - Carlack is the brand yes indeed.
When people refer to the Carlack 68 it normally means there polish/paint cleaner which is like Klasse AIO
I guess you got the swirl remover or polishing paste then ? Not used either but there well liked on other forums.
