Jay the more you polished it did you notice the orange peel more? Can see that RB suffers from it just like BG does.
Looked superb someone has got themselves the cleanest racing blue in the country.
Crazy man! Whats the total? ££££
You have doubled up on a few bits though Megs 9 and Megs 82 are pretty much the same product.
The Megs 84 and 85 are harsh stuff, best suited for Rotary use. Use with care. Not sure how well the PC will break either down.
Polishers wise nothing bar a rotary polsher or random orbital polisher like the PC will have enough power to do paint correction and remove defects such as minor scrtaches and swirl marks.
If working by hand whatever polishers you use will take some real elbow grease. Working by hand I would...
You can try and clean it up with some metal polish and wire brush.
Cast bits like that are a pain to get looking good/factory again without getting them blasted.
The other option is to get it polished like they do on here with the inlets and fuel rail covers.
It was never a really quick one, my 309 GTi always felt alot stronger throughout the whole rev range. There was not much up with the 205 if anything, it had the stem seals done after it was on the telly, but even after the top end rebuild it still was never really that great (Friday afternoon...
Would make an ideal daily drive replacement for my 306, just need to decide between the 197 or a Golf GTi.
182 won't be going anywhere ( even when the battery is charged ;) )
Shame you are miles away, the guy that I use for dents could pull that using up to date PDR methods.
See if any of the dents type people near you use hot glue paintless dent removal methods, means they can sort things from the outside if they can get behind.
You love the banter Seb.
I am chopping mine in tommorrow for a 197 ;)
Ok in honesty- mine has not moved since the beginning of the December, battery is charging now though.
If you really keen you can dress the plastics with AG Vinyl And Rubber, and polish the under bonnet paintwork with AG SRP.
Spray the AG Engine & Machine cleaner on, agitate with a soft brush. Use as little water to rinse it off as you can, and dry with a towel. If a part it looks like you don't...
You will need at least a couple of each of the normal sized 6 inch pads.
2 x Light Cut
2 x Polishing
2 x Finishing
The same as above in 4 inch spot pad sizes are a must for small panels on the Clio.
As to polishes, in order to remove most defects you will need at least a medium abbrassive in...
It sure was, they ran the mk1 golf a few and it won in the end, guess which one they showed on the show ;)
Gary - Just replied to you PM
Not a bad starter kit, you will have to work hard by hand to remove the swirls with the Laser Buff Scratch and Swirl remover.
The PC is only single head but it is random orbit which makes it harder to burn through paint as it occilates rather than just spins, and bogs down under pressure to minimize the risk of burning paint.
The first stage after a good wash/clay is a decent machine polish. I used the Poorboys Super...
