The best way to get the PC is to imprt from Autopia http://www.autopia-carcare.com/pcdepot.html
There is a guide kicking about here, and then get a plug, cable and...
Re: Would this be s**te ???
Yeah very rare that people can leave a decent finish with rotary in most paint shops - most cases people do more harm than good.
Though to be honest it mostly comes down to it being rushed out the door.
The PC has been such a worth while investment on my Black car - recommend it to anyone. A very easy tool to get to use. The Rotary is a different beast but when mastered it's finish is better than a PC.
I don't use the rotary unless it is helping at a mates bodyshop, not brave enough to use it...
Re: Would this be s**te ???
It will get swirls out used correctly with decent pads and polishes no problems.
The main disadvanatage it can install holograms, putting in milder swirls taking the deeper ones out.
The PC is recommended as the safer option as it is harder to damage paint with...
The one in the link is a proper rotary same as used in bodyshops, things to look out for are what speeds it runs at and what size spindle it has to know if it can run a decent backing plate to allow you to use proper pads.
It should give much more speed control rather than using drill which in...
Its a rotary polisher so will work very well with proper pads and some decent polish, use with care though - as you can do more harm than good with one.
EGP is great as it easy to get without mail ordering. Jeffs AGT would get my vote if you do fancy mail ordering. Not a fan of M-seal it just does not last like the EGP and Jeffs and it not that great in the looks department.
As your ordering from Rich @ Polished Bliss I would grab some Jeffs...
LOL!
AG SRP and EGP topped with P21s or Megs 16.
Klasse AIO and Einzett Glanz Wax topped with P21s or Megs 16.
Klasse AI0 and Jeefs Werkstat Acylic Jet Sealant P21s or Megs 16.
Nattys Blue also looks ok as a wax on Silver too.
All look good on my silver 306. Also worth investing in some...
The EGP is applied with a foam hand pad aswell.
I use the SRP a panel at at time and remove.
The EGP needs to cure on the car, so I apply it to all the panels, leave it 45 - 60 mins and then remove.
Re: Cleaning Sued 172 Seats
For normally maintence the recommend a wipe with a dry cloth, light soiling (oh er!) a wipe with a damp cloth.
Specific stain removal see http://www.alcantara.com/
Apply the SRP with a foam hand pad, remove with a microfiber.
Seat belts depend on how dirty they are, Autoglym interior shampoo may sort them or you may need to look at something like Meguiars All Purpose Cleaner.
Meg's 7 is a funny to use prouduct, I one heard it described akin to rice pudding, you wipe the top skin off and it is still wet underneath. As you take the top skin of it will dry again.
I have never used it by machine. I tend to hand apply it a panel at a time and remove using 2 microfibers...
Heat the remaining residue up with a hair dryer and peel it off with a finger nail the best you can. Keeping us the hairdryer and rubbing with the AG Tar and Adhesive and it will come off.
It took my about an hour to do mine last time though. I am thinking of changing my plate and not looking...
I correct 2000 grade wet sanded motorcycle panels in my mates bodyshop with Intensive Polish and 4 inch spot pads so we be glad to hear how the others work with the PC. In all honesty the IP does the job even on wet flatted stuff, I have never ever though of needing power gloss ( this is all on...
Post up how you get on with the Megs 84 and 85 by PC when you use them.
I have never used anything more then 83, SSR 2.5 or Menzerna Intensive Polish before with it.
The most important stage is the polishing, this is what creates the depth and gloss to your paint aswell as removing any defects do you can really skip that stage.
You could skip the claying stage and the car will look ok, but the paint will never be quite as clean as it would be without.
I...
