the gearbox mounting should be ok, the upper engine mount i think you can use the valver/williams mount, you can drill a hole in the subframe for the 172 lower box mount, and the dogbone you can use williams (aka phs 1 172) or a phs 2 172 dogbone
unless you have a problem with your existing rings then it seems mad to rip apart the engine to change them for no reason
compression test the engine first
i did a 172 yesterday with a receipt showing "cambelt £100" needless to say it was in for a noisy aux belt idler and a cambelt inspection, i inspected it, it was now way 12months old, tippex was all over the place, tensioner was too tight, timing was out
refused to let the car leave the...
its a bit complex ie keeping the oe dash, loom etc etc etc
if the car has a UCH, multiplex milarky then its easier to piggyback the aftermarket into the existing setup, if you're clever no warning lights will be present
note - i don't do wiring or ecu's for a reason as you can guess!
hum, has it had a cambelt change in the past? if it has how long ago? can you see the aux belt? any burning smells? did the PAS still work when the engine was running?
any lights on dash?
