The Collinites are regarded as the daddys of winter protection, I went for Megs 16 (by PC) over the Jeffs Acyrlic Sealant (which alone looked great).
Neither the Collinites or the Megs 16 are as easy as the likes of P21s, but the saelant however is as easy to use as a quick detail spray.
Polish - Autoglym Super Resin = Halfords - Easy to use
Seal - Jeffs Werksatt Acrylic Trigger = http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/pb214protect.html - Very very very easy to use
Winter Wax - Meguiars #16 = http://www.seriousperformance.co.uk/Products,51,toView_150.html - Can be tricky when...
P21s has a deeper richer look, and the Nattys Blue a wetter look on Black. P21s is also easier to on and off. 50/50 is a very nice product on Black aswell, the looks of Pinnacle Souveran for half the Price. None are rally that good a choice for winter waxes though.
The Poorboys EX and EX-p are...
Plastic bag test - put you hand in a clean sandwich plastic bag and rub it across washed paint you will soon feel if it needs doing. My 182 only needed spot claying when delivered.
Worth adding in a sealant step as advised, would not bother with the EGP though grab some Jeffs Werkstatt Acyrlic...

As above -...
Not tried the Sonus Polishes either. Poorboys SSR range seems the easist to get on with as a beginner, where as Menzerna seems to yeild better results but at a higher cost and stepper learning curve. Alot of people like the Megs 83 and 80 route, I like the 80 but never got on as well with the 83...
I have only used the 16 as I have a tin of it. That said dont like it by hand an only use it by machine. Looks good though and keeps the car clean in the rain only the back end gets dirty.
