Before doing a big detail on very girmey cars some people pre soak the car with APC before the wash. I have a couple of times on really dirty cars.
Meguiars All Purpose Cleaner is good value at 12 quid for a US gallon which can be mixed up from 4:1 ro 10:1 depending on how strong you need it.
The D.I.Y options for me would be
Autoglym Super Resin Polish and Extra Gloss Protection, topped with either:
Collinite 845
Collinite 476
Meguiars #16
or Autoglym Super Resin and JEFFS Werkstatt Acrylic Jett Trigger topped with one of the above 3 waxes.
On my own car I have gone with JEFFS...
I have only tried it recently myself, and didnt post on here about it.
It is more akin to Optimum Car wax spray rather in my eyes, dont see it being as durable as the Jeffs. That said one coat of OCW lated 6 months on my daily drive in all weathers.
I plan to wack a coat on after every wash.
I have used mine now aswell.

Once on the 182, and last sunday on my daily drive 306.
Works well and is very easy. Just ordered the shampoo of Alex at SP to complement it.

Never touched the 182 bodywork with anything else to dry.
I use my Autoglym Chamois on the wheels, arches and engine bays these days.
Jeffs Acrylic Trigger Spray is like EGP but in spray form, with no cure time, risk of dust etc. For me it is a no brainer which I would choose each time just because it is so easy - as easy as a quick detail spray so a big time saver. Read 10 -15 mins to do a whole car vs an hour plus to do a...
Nice one Ben - I have not risked using any other gel based dressing on mine since I picked it up in March 2005, and it has left it looking 100% factory. As long as I can still get it I doubt I will change.
Autoglym Super resin & Extra Gloss Protection wil give great winter protection. Top that with a heavy duty wax such as Meguairs #16 or Collinite and you will be set for winter.
Got the same one in mine, with the dock cable in the glove box. Five mins to install, well chuffed with mine.
Worth doing a search on here on Denison been discused a fair bit.
At this time of year I would be tempted to ditch the clay and save it till spring.
But as above wash, Super Resin Polish and then the Extra Gloss Protection. Forget the wax for now and then add extra coat of EGP after you wash over the next few times.
