Valver track isn't any wider than an RT.
Easy to put a 16v in though - just need engine/loom/ECU/gearbox/upper engine mount/driveshafts/radiator and fan/throttle cable/fuel pump - plug and play beyond that.
Mine 1.2 is going 2ltr 16v very soon...
Drop it 55mm.
16v springs fit fine and do the job.
To get -55mm buy some -55RSI springs or fit some -35mm 16v springs...it basically achieves the same but is a wee bit stiffer.
Indeed you can't...but you can trust the opinions of the members on here who've driven both on the same roads and can (honestly and fairly) critique each cars strength and weaknesses.
Real life speed is always going to be down to the conditions as i pointed our earlier (^^)...whats fast on...
Excuse me...I'm well aware of whats possible or not with cams and headwork on these engines matey! Don't get me confused with some kiddie who sticks an IK on and expects 10bhp...
The 1.2 IS good for 80bhp IO with cam and other work...someone on here has had 96 from the SPI version so going by...
Well its just the one cam as its 8v...i paid 290ish delivered from belgium and it'd be good to get half that back but am open to offers as i have no use for it anymore.
But surely 'real life' speed is a combination of handling and power which is what i'm trying to point out.
Don't get wrong, i'm not making excuses or anything but roads have corners...
Reason i ask is that i have a basically new IK for sale onlong with an unused fast road cam plus spare cylinder head. I'm wondering if theres any interest from you peeps before i try floggin them on ebay?
I reckoned with the cam/IK plus flowed head you'd see 80bhp...
Oh and as for the which is quicker, i'm sure those who've driven both will agree that both cars perform best in different situations...country roads williams rules (as it should do), smooth roads the 1x2's seem better.
Any idiot can do a 0-60 and show whats 'faster' but real world is...
The V6 is still a rare car, as is any limited edition/small run car...which going by production number is also what a williams is.
I agree it not a supercar but by no stretch of the imagination does 1x2 get the same attention. Whether or not this down the fact the williams is 'just an old...
You'll get a 2ltr conversion well cheaper than 1500.
I had a low milage complete megane lump DELIVERED for only 300quid yesterday and i've almost aquired all the parts neccesary to run it in my 1.2 shell. By the time its over it'll be WELL under 1k.
If you're mates already got a valver and...
Don't bother...al they'll do is extend or remove the rev limit which isn't really worth the money since the car isn't going to making power beyond the std limit. If you had performance cams then yeah..
Thats rather a lot IMO (unless that includes removal/refit of engine which i'm not entirely sure you need to do on the RSI) - just get a second hand box instead of fixing it...cost about 100.
Are you the chap that asked me the question on my ebay auction?
As i said there you will notice a slight improvement on your 8v engine as the filter get relocated off the the side - compare this with the std airbox sitting on top of the exhaust manifold and you'll be getting more cool air to...
What Versailles is it? Phase 1/2 or 3?
If its a phase 3 DIET engine (i.e 8v MPI), I have an uprated cam and spare cylinder head sitting here plus K&N IK on ebay atm...
