Patty, you're only gonna be about 11quid max for postage mate - the hub carriers you need are only 9kg each (that was when i weighed mine which came with hub and bearing) - standard parcels will do 20kg for £11.65 so not really that much.
As lunner says bearings are only 15quid but you'd be...
Patty, i don't know if GSF do the hub carriers or not but you're guaranteed to be a fortune buying new from anywhere - secondhand is the best way which means you'll likely get hubs and bearings too all inclusive.
I bought some from a chap near me for (IIRC) 10quid each...luckily he's selling...
Ah cheers.
Suppose if i was to be making an adapter a square throttle fitment wouldn't be a problem.
Can anyone supply me a picture of the ph1 172 throttle and maybe dimensions?
Secondhand williams ECU's go for about 50-60quid - try on here (matbrown), f7power.com, williamsclio.co.uk or infinicar.com.
16v and williams are different - running a 16v ECU in a williams can be done but it'll be lean at high revs so a bit dodgy.
If you can't get a williams ECU then...
Yes, the ECU is the problem on the volvo lump as it limits boost IIRC but there are people who can get round it.
Prima do a 1.7 conversion for the GTT and i'm quite sure that doesn't use the volvo ECU or anything like that...it's either a bore out of the 1.4 block or a hybrid of GTT parts...
You'll need williams/clio 1.8 16v/renault 19 1.8 16v hub carriers to rectify the hub spacing issue to 54mm. That should be all...driveshafts/wishbones/calliper carriers will all mate up.
If you cut/saw the tyres off you'll be able to send all 4 for 24 quid via std parcels (tied together in 2's). You said the tyres were knacked/almost knacked anyway?
High-boost with headwork etc you'd be about the same as Nicks which was about 250bhp or so.
Throttle bodies with a turbo? Well, assuming you could get someone to fit them then not much difference. The main benefit of fitting TB's is they flow more air than the std inlet but since turbo is...
BB did Nick Reads and just about every other 16v turbo in Britian - nobody has done more development on them!!
Perhaps what Tom is referring to is that their low boost (190-200bhp) isn't that much quicker than a cam'd 2ltr...their hi-boost (240-250bhp) is in a different league though. Still...
No, its a DIET (1.2 8v).
I have a chap doing headwork on the cheap for me and i'm getting a cam. I've seen similar (but larger) throttles to mine before and am looking into fitting it via a custom adapter (Inlet is plastic anyway so should be easy to DIY).
Can't remember what i saw the...
Folks, could anyone tell me if they have a (cable operated) throttle design similar to the following on their car?
I have something similar to this on my 1.2 but i'm looking for a larger example that can (hopefully) be modified to fit via a custom adapter.
If you have, could you name the...
BB do turbo conversions as do k-tec.
You can use 16v or williams shafts - it makes no difference.
Best to use strongest gearbox you can for obvious reasons - this means willy box.
Bit pointless turboing a 2ltr engine IMO - they're expensive to beginning with and you'll basically get the...
^^agreed.
Given the fact that putting TB's on a std 1.8 will be lucky to gain 30bhp means you'll get even less with carbs...and at the expense of reasonable fuel consumption. For 1k you could 2ltr it with cams which would be far better use of the money IMO...that'll net you 20-30bhp anyway.
I wouldn't bother with the 16v hubs either or with 16v coilovers as the RT ones should be adjustable for stiffness so more than up to the job (I know BRUn used RT ones in his GTT conversion anyway).
I'd only bother going to 16v gear if you wanted the wider track or wanted to get stiffer and...
No Lunner, its not the same....the clio valver has wider front track than the lesser model (this is why a 16v rear beam won't fit an RSI or less) and williams wider still...but this difference between clio valver and non-16v is just down to the hub carriers.
Basically;
if you have 54mm...
Sensitive? No i wouldn't say that....but i also wouldn't say i'm going to put with some rose-tinted spectacle wearing idiot thats spouts rubbish like yourself.
However, your right , this is going off topic but i'm sure the readers of CS weren't too interested in what you had to say iintially...
well seeing as this topic is 'suppossed' to be funny i'll share a PM i just got;
Jesus,
1) Soft arse?? It's always a joy chatting to people so eloquent as yourself...It'd be even more of a joy to know that'd you'd have the nerve to say that to someones face rather than hide behind a...
Well as it happens i did actually check...search comes back with about 2 pages of posts this month so i'd call that a fairly frequent poster! :-s
I think you'll find i dislike you becuase you create posts such as these. You obsess over you Williams to a ludicrous degree and it appears you do...
