My standard mk1 172 is currently running a K+N57i. is it worth my while fitting a silenced/unsilenced decat to the car with a standard exhaust system? Will it sound any better? more to the point, will it go any better?

Could anyone do a silver mk1 172 with valver turbines (in original finish) and lowered about 40mm?
