yer, youre right m8! Just checked this > http://www.cliosport.net/specs/clio172mk1.asphttp://www.cliosport.net/specs/clio172mk1.asp > iceberg came in dec 2k/jan 01...
defo the same as the first (bug-eye) 172s, cant say for the later ones. The best colour IMO - had a R5 in it...colour always looked mint, even when dirty...
Right, theres been a few posts about best/owned from new/fastest williams or 16v so i thought id do a fun alternative;
Who would consider their willy/16v to have led the hardest life?
(By this i mean mileage/condition/number of owners before you got it/amount of repairs its taken to bring it...
I had one of these and then sold it to gunnergibson via ebay (i think).
Theyre fairly decent but will need sanding and painting as they come in black fibreglass. if you could be arsed with the hassle of fitting and finding dials to match theyd look ace!
m8, id say its defo worthwhile!
Unfortunately i cant comment on engine differences given that ive never really driven a williams but when i had the wider track fitted to my car it made it fee totally different...far superior. I can only imagine the other uprated components the willy has over a...
Right, got my renawal quote through from Admiral today which came to 593 for the year. Unfortunately i thought id better tell them about my 6 point in the last few months but its now rocketed to £903! Balls to that!!
Anyway, can anyone recommend a good insurer thatd beat this quote esp...
m8, to repair whatevers wrong with your motor youll be looking at a figure of 300quid MINIMUM IMO!
Honestly, youd be better getting a low milage lump from Infinicar and getting it dropped in - no hassle, cheaper and less time off the road. Plus youll make a good 150quid selling bits off the...
Engine was throttle bodied - about 240bhp or so. I think Hollister on this site built a replica engine for his rally car so he might be able to help with precise specs.
Theyre fooking mental though! :D
Holly sh*t - although i can beleive it cos of the state it was in when i got it! I think if i met some of the very last owners id be wanting to give them a good talking to... lol
^Agreed - any of the above!
I also got my maxi spoiler through the post the other day and have held it up against my standard valver. It does look good but needs some aftermarket bodywork to stop it looking OTT/out of the ordinary IMO. Itll be going on mine in a month or so....
As said...
I know for definate that any sony HU with the 3.5mm remote plug will work with the stalk control but youll need an adapter - these are about 30quid from Halfords. As for other manufacturers, i dont know....
Congrats on the car though m8 - youll love it!
Right, dont laugh at this cos i get enough lip of friends!
i used to have an 4x45w HU which sounded ace but i wanted my 16v to look a bit more original/oldskool so i downgraded to the original tape HU. This is all fine but as you can expect the orignal 10year HU (4x6w!!) does not sound nearly...
Thats a fair point about the willy track m8. However, i think the problems eves has is down to the wheel width rather than circumferance - my 1.8 looks as low as his and i have no problems but then again my wheels are standard width (6") wheras his will probably be 7" - if prima do the wheels in...
Cheers for the help folks!
As i said i used to have the prima wheels in 16" (then sold them to fatherted on here) as i didnt feel they looked "right"...IMO the spoke stuck out a bit too much on a 16" rim. Since then, i saw this pic of them in 17" and love them...
LOL!
Well thing is, ive got RSI skirts, A subtle splitter and maybe a maxi spoiler to go on. The car is quite low already so im worried it may look a bit "swamped"...
