Aye, its a phase 1 so hopefully i should be ok reactivating the standard one. The light has never some on on mine so im assuming that its been disconnected like the imobiliser...if not then im fooked and will need a new one!
Cheers for that...should keep me occupied today!
Another question about this is;
are the imobiliser and the central locking reciever connected in any way (as i have my central locking receiver disconnected atm)?
i have a red LED on top of the steering column panel (that the stalks come out of) - is the an OE item and when should it...
Can someone breifly explain how the immobiliser (i assume its that key in the glovebox?) in a valver is connected up?
Reason i ask i that i have some crappy aftermarket system in mine which im going to remove and want to check wether all the connections for the original one are all in place...
Respray would defo be the cheapest option rather than retrofitting the 172 components to a Cup. However, the retrofitting option wont devalue your car like a respray certainly would as you could argue that the extras are standard options in a way...
I think youve got to ask what youd actually...
Erm...by oil cooler, is it like a small cylinder that the filter screws into and has 2 water pipes coming which go round the side of the block to connect in somewhere near the back?
Reason i ask is that i have on of these on my 1.8 - were they standard on early valvers too? :confused:
TBH i dont think its anything to do with the size/power of your car (well certainly not the 172 for the reasons said above) - i think its just a symptom of modern life. Thesedays if youre in front of someone then it appears that they think "youre in the way" and will go hell for leather to get...
ill agree that comparing std v modified may create a biased set of figures but lets not forget that these modified willys probably cost less to build and modify than the cost of a standard 172...far better value for money IMO. However, thats not the arguement here...what is the arguement is...
not necessarily - availablity of torque comes into it. i might be wrong but the willy makes about 85% of its torque from about 2k which i dont think the 172 does. Its similar arguement to willy v valver - fall out of the rev range (and you will to a certain extent when changing gear) and your...
Bloody hell - i really dont see what the arguements are for!
I drive my sisters 172 on a regular basis and my valver (with willy track so effectively a willy...handling wise) and there is NO WAY the 172 handles better....FACT. The 172 is quicker for all out straightline speed ill agree and...
standard for standard;
172 will be slightly quicker staright-line (tho you do get bad ones),
172 grips more,
willy handles better,
but
willy is better on give-and-take roads (so probably faster depending where your driving),
tuned willys seem to have have the edge...perhaps more...
ha, its not even like it only happens cos its a new model! I went up to a dealer to get a new rubber centre cap for a GT Turbo steering wheel;
q: "hi, im after a rubber steering wheel centre cap for a GT Turbo"
a: "what make and model of car is that sir?"
Felt like saying "its a f**king...
wasnt aware of that - thats heaps better than the mob who did my megane a few years back! A good deal but youve always got the knowledge that you need to make each monthly payment and if youre not too secure job-wise that may be a problem. With an old car its the luck of the draw whether there...
Discounting will be applied to both 182s (normal version or not) so bottom line, this new variant will always be the cheapest. In fact, given some of the feelings that are being made here that this cheap 182 is a little inferior (?), then you may actually save more than the 900 quid if public...
All valid points here but what im seeing is a car ripe for modification. This 182 cup has the power, the handling of the best 182 (and 172 from what people have said) currently available - all thats a bit sh*t is the interior. 900 odd quid saving can get buckets/steering wheel etc and still...
