oil temp, accelerator and gearstick sound about right. I would check his receipts for the obvious stuff like cambelt been done on time etc. Would be helpful to know what milage its on so we can judge if gearbox is likely to need done but maybe thats in his list of receipts?
Sounds like a good...
If you think the braking is off, id get it up on the ramps for a checkup as you dont want anything wrong with them. I hit a pheasant a while back coming back from Aviemore which destroyed my bumper mounts, arch liners and cost me two driveshafts so they can do some damage....
Erm...calm down ladies! ;)
All valid points here i think - the cars do look loads different but, ill agree that to your ordinary know nothing member of the public, you could get confused between models if you just caught a breif glimpse. Its a perception thing TBH, 90% of clios (low models)...
Pah! You Williams owners thinking you have the better car...fools! ;)
Seriously tho, i think the main thing between the cars is the power issue but im waiting for this inlet manifold that BenR is doing - hopefully that will see an end to much of these discussions as it will even things out...
I think due to the image the willy has, everyone wants one and to some extent the valvers are forgotten - i mean no-one is really too fused when one gets crashed/broken/scrapped are they? I can see a day when you can still buy a williams but you wont be able to buy a valver for love nor money...
Been discussed heaps of time and it comes down to personal preference if people were being honest. The 185s will have more feel/feedback as there will be less sidewall give compared to the 195s - maybe this is where most of the handling will be ruined arguements come from but its not that...
obviously thats only for the mk 2 phase 1 but they seem to have the following for phase 2s - don t know if its the same kit (going by the arches/spoiler it probably is) but its also a wide body >

i believe that when BRUN had his GTT conversion do on his RT he fitted 16v clocks. IIRC he sacrified the oil pressure one for a boost gauge...
LCD gauge measure the outside temp - if it falshing at 30 degrees it broken (well the sensor will be).
height look good IMO - might be tempted to bring it up a little at the back tho. Other than that, a tidy car id say! Got any more pics or rear/front etc?
Oh, regarding your BB4 - when you take it off let me know as im after a stainless backbox and may have it off you (also the u-bend that...
Dont remind me - the pile of reciepts i have (since buying it) is literally over an inch thick...compressed! In total its probably approaching the value of a s/h 172 if im being honest...
Still, its worth it as there very little other cars id honestly have instead...
there seems to a group of cars out there that you can get away with treating them badly and not have problems - IMO valvers are not in this group; let things slide and youre fooked!
In the year and a half ive had to do head gasket, gearbox, alternator, shocks, springs, driveshafts, engine...
i had two nails about two weeks ago and ended up buying a tyre. How far from the centre of the tyre the nail is determines if it can be repaired (they have a gauge). IIRC on 195 width, anything more than 35mm from the centreline of the tyre should not be repaired as it wont seal properly...
i dont now how much wider (track wise) a 16v is over an RSI but a williams is about 35mm wider than a 16v at the front.
and yes, they can be made the same.
^ha - thats nothing mike8579!
Since i got mine ive had engine reconditioned, new gearbox, new steering rack, new steering column, new alternator, new radiaiator, new heatsheild, new wheel bearings, new brakes, new exhaust, new 1.8 suspension, new engine mounts, new clutch, new followers, new...
yes, my central locking has stopped working (aye, the remote part like yours) as the water was corroding the circuitboard in the roof console. If its not too bad you can give it a good clean and it should work again. Best to remove it until you get the roof sealed properly - mine was playing...
