    you must have seen some pikey installs fella! we had problems with low quality cast studs stretching, but we tracked down some proper rolled jobbies and they were sound, locktite and heat doesn't really do much!

    oooh thats a can of worms! "back in the day" ABP had an interesting reputation!!! forgetting to tighten the bolts up on my friends 106 gti was a good one! i hope they're better these days!

    water pump or tentioner fail?

    remove the undertray and grab the lower aux belt idler pulley and try and wobble it book time to CHANGE the aux belt is 2.2-2.5hrs (they're harder than you think) waterpump is estimate approx + 1hrs on top (fiddly fucker if the male torx bolt heads round off)

    0.3 hours to take off the aux belt? erm, no! (well maybe if you cut it off! LOL) i bet its lower aux belt idler pulley
