Just wondering if theyre trying it on or not!
My dad got took my mums metro to the Bayview in Peterhead for an MOT - the guy said it failed on emmisions, brakes and would need serious welding to get it through - a cost of near £300 quid. He then offered my dad 50quid for it so "one of the...
Cant remember - haynes manual should have something about adjusting the mixture.
I will say that i dont know know if this will actually work.....where are you getting it MOTd - think im up beside you??
Whats the engine milage? If its a carbd car (cant remember if the RTs are SPI) couldnt you adjust it to run slightly lean (ie less unburnt fuel)?
Failing that give the mechanic a bung....
Neither i think - im after the adapter manifold to connect the individual 4 throttle bodies (roamer style) that im planning to get to the head (currently where the existing inlet manifold/single throttle body bolts on)
Yeah - thats what i mean - curse my sodding english (that and my boss for interupting my post!).
Does the hillpower thing still apply in this case....prob not....
Cheers for the info folks!
Yeah hes done a car before (used to do signwriting etc as well) but now looks like its going to a bodyshop as my mates dad owns one. Apparently theyre gonna do it for free as long as i build them some computers - knew that degree would come in handy someday...... ;)
Right my dad has just got a hold of a compressor and says he can spray my car for me as long as i get the paint!
Err....but where could it from? I cant see halfords suppling it....
Its 449 Sports Blue so cant make do with spray cans either (special order).
Right got the car back with the new engine mount - it has made a hellova difference but the problem is still there so i think its the other driveshaft on mine :( My mechanic said theres some kinda of sealant near the end of it which sounds suspect - probably been some kindof bodged repair...
Dunno about hillpower but k-tec do a kit for 1600 (no fitting tho) and prima for about 3k (inc fitting). Id expect hillpower to be about the same - well worth it id say - once i get some cash saved this will be done.... :D
...loan time again!
Some more prima pics >>>...
Yeah m8 - saw it on wednesday when i was up.....couldnt believe how low and wide it was! Wouldnt mind a test drive myself but theyll probably think twice in letting me out in it...i know id have doubts about letting a 22 year old k reg valver driver loose in a v6...
BTW does your cup have...
Hasnt a lot of the power problems got to do with the cleaness of the filter?
On my 1.8, having a pipe facing direct to the front transported a lot of filth through to the K&N cone so the same must be true of the vipers? Has anyone actually had a look at the state of the element itself?
I...
Sounds similar to mine!
My valver makes a clunking noise and when car is in drive slowing or accelerating. Ive had one driveshaft replaced and all bearings so far but my dogbone engine mount is also broken/rubbers perished - getting fixed right now so will let you know if this cures it.....
want to get rid of the bump-strip on my valvers bumper, presumably by riding it away, but someone has told me that they are actually hollow! This would mean that if i grind them each bumper will split in two - is this actually the case??
Also, whats the deal between phase 1 and 2 bump strips...
There seems to be tons of space left between the head and radiator and far less pipework/crap in that picture compared to the hillpower one (and others ive seen).
Was that a custom made job or a kit?
I have this at the moment as well and have also replaced driveshaft (thought it was cv joints as well) - turns out my dogbone engine mount is broken which is getting fixed on thursday so hopefully thatll be it!
Has anyone on here got a throttle bodied valver/williams??
If so do you have any pics/videos of the actual car? Wanting to do this next year and want an idea of the result and everything thats involved before i commit myself to another pit of debt!
Thanks!
Thatd be you that was after my prima wheels on http://www.aberdeenbeach.comwww.aberdeenbeach.com then! I take it you sold the 306 and your own alloys then?
Mk1 1.4rt - with cams, gasflowed head and chip. Cheap to insure and no need to mention the mods (youre not gonna see them anyway)
Should be quick enough and cheap enough for ya!
Just rip it off.
Kwik-fit did that to my last two and im sure they *know what theyre doing*....lol Seriously tho -removing it wont have any bad effects....

Didnt you post that earlier m8? Honestly, if theyve just bolted the head back on, itll need to be run in a...
Well it doesnt on mine - i think a fan should come on when you switch it off and the temp is just above the last mark before going vertical so if thats the noise then you should be ok. Unfortunately mine is very intermitent....
