I was thinking of a TB kit myself but im slightly unsure now.
Some people have said that unless a smaller radiator goes in the gains (cos of the small space and heat) is just gonna be about 25bhp - could probably get that from just a gasflow and the right kind of cams - cheaper as well. Also...
LMAO! What we talking about here? ;)
Nah, seriously - thanks for the info. Hopefully getting a new spoiler soon so didnt want to feck the window or something getting the old one off!
Cheers!
I have been enquiring about this - think the kit costs about £1850 and comes with everything needed so you just need to sort somewhere to get it fitted!
Apparently itll be rollling roaded on the first week of january before theyll have an idea of power etc....
VERY interesting!
Without opening up the ecu itself, theres no way for them to know and since its a mk 1 theyre probably not going to be too concerned as its not going to be worth £ks. Obviously if youve had an accident and your car screams "boy racer" they make take particular time over an inspection!
As for...
Just found this "electronic supercharger" on the web > http://www.turbozet.com/http://www.turbozet.com/ Looks a bit dodgy - bit like that 20bhp increase on ebay!
Also found this >...
Think theyre made by PSG - their distributer list is at http://www.psgbodystyling.co.uk/distributor_list.htmlhttp://www.psgbodystyling.co.uk/distributor_list.html
Nooooo!! Keep the FSE PBV on - granted you dont need it ATM but it wont be robbing you of any power and you will need it if you get cams etc.
As said, loose the open induction kit - get a hold of a standard airbox and put a replacement element in it and this should sort any breathing your...
My valver is now on 130k and have had just about everything done so going on experience id say:
1. Cambelt first (ok its slightly early but if the last owner had it rolling roaded it may have been driven hard during that time - better safe than sorry)
2. Fix the steering problems as these...
Cheers! One thing, the engine was reconditioned back in febuary so presumably all fluids were removed when they lifted the block out. Also, i fitted a new radiator etc when i did the thermostat etc so is it worth doing this?
I noticed that the wires at the fan switch look a bit weak (rubber...
Depends, i think unless theres anything there that will alter the fuelling/timing theres no point - obviously cams do! Youll find that most people who sl*g them have put them a near standard car (in which case the standard fuel regulator can do everything the PBV can) or they have had them put...
Forget the superchip!
As said get the cams, Power boost valve and hillpower chip. Headwork will give you the max possible benifits but is obviously gonna cost way more.
The above combo will make a dramatic difference till you can afford the headwork and wont be useless when you finally do...
(!) Nah - good tyres. The owner of the garage that fitted them has them on his evo and he thinks they are VERY good. Think theyre about 40quid a corner for me....
You should have a look at http://www.marangoni.com/content.asp?L=3&IdMen=149http://www.marangoni.com/content.asp?L=3&IdMen=149
I had proxies before and these are FAR better in the wet and, as far as i can tell, as good in the dry! Very cheap too....
Well, normally the fan should come on exactly at the mark ive made but very occassionally it goes higher (midway to the next mark) which makes me think its not 100%. As i said, i have a low temp fan switch and radiator so it must be ok but im still a little concerned about sitting in traffic...
