I went from a company car 197, to a privately financed 200, then back to a ph1 172. They have their plus points and minus points so I'd suggest driving a few. The 172/182 is quite soft ride wise compared to a cup packed 197/200. The newer heavier 197/200 feels slower than a 172/182 also. I...

Believe it or not it's a very similar rear suspension set up to a Range Rover. ie there are LOTS of adjusters! That price doesn't surprise me given what BMW charge per hour and they'll only use genuine parts.
