Swirls don't show up so much on silver, but it will remove them as they will probably be there but just dont show up as much.
There will be a definate increase in gloss and depth due to the extra polishing ability of the machine over hand. A yearly PC'ing is worth while on any colour.
All measured diagonally still, but with the LCD what you see is what you get, dont lose any viewing area like you do with CRT.
A 17 inch LCD will give you more viewing area than a 17 inch CRT.
Still not sure that LCD is as good for Photoshop work as a good CRT is. The Apple LCD on my Macbook...
Sounds as if they will write it off for that as others have said, seen cars with less damge written off. I think the unluckyness of the quarter getting hit as well meant it was always going to cost.
To be honest in your postion I would rather have a pay out, cars are rarely the same after...

The shampoo you use is not really a big issue when polsihing or waxing after so the Turtle Wax will be fine.

I would have to speak to my partner in crime on that one as to do that in a day is a two man job! Otherwise it's a weekender.
To wash, polish, remove all the wheels and clean up etc, paint all the brakes etc if required, I am sure we can sort out a reasonable price if anyone is interested.

There was no charge for the 205 as they are good friends of mine, and they where both doing there fair share of work. They kept me fed and watered so I was happy :)
Normally for a wash, polish and sealant is around 40-50 quid though. No one has ever asked me to do the full monty...

The over heating headunit is a common problem, think a warrenty visit to the dealer to replace it was the only cure to the problem for those that had suffered it.
The compound may be overkill, and will cut very quickly, the Scratch X is a safer option, but the rubbing compound would do a quicker job.
Be carefull if you do use it, and test it in a small area first as it may put in smaller scratches than the swirls its removing due to the abbrassives in...
