It's a chemical paint cleaner, stips of old layers of wax etc, to give you squeaky clean paint. Combined with clay this is a good way to get back to clean un waxed paint.
Standard exhausts going on what people have said on here seem to die as soon as it leaves the factory! Mine's getting stainless as soon as it gives me the chance to!
Autoglym Super Resin will be fine after claying. Maybe worth getting some Meguiars Scratch X to use in any trouble spots after claying (paint looked in good shape at the Mids meet so you may not need it), and some Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection to seal it after the Super Resin, reckon that will...
The waxing will be fine, the biggest danger of doing damage is in the claying. That wont happen as long as you wash the car well first (your post sounds like you do that anyway) and as long as the clay is not hard. See the claying post from earlier on today for some tips.

The car wash you use before polishing does'nt really matter, I only use decent stuff, to maintain a polished finish. Before claying or deep polishing cant go wrong with Halfords own.

Worth trying, the closest one to me, has to get it in from there other branch (the cheap one!), and then does not sell it at the nice cheap prices!
The other one looks at me like I am speaking in foreign language when I enquire in there about it! You may get lucky.
