The Perfect Jetwash?

  Clio 197
What's the best way to jetwash my car?

Currently:

1) I jetwash all the obvious crap off.

2) I make-up a shampoo solution... and spray it all over the car.

3) Then, I jetwash it all off.

Is there a better way?

Oms :)

I've got a power washer at home, I've never taken my 182 to the garages to wash it there, the chemical they use is crap! Doesn't do your paint much good if left on either. :nono:

Normal wash for me is:-
Cold water Jet wash my car down (to get rid of most of the debris/salt etc)
Bucket of hot water and sponge with car shampoo in (I'm using Turtle wax Extreme at the minute with wax included)
Nothing for the wheels at the moment as I've just ran out :( but would normally be using Turtlewax wheel cleaner
Then powerwash off with cold water
Chamois Dry

Takes me about 45minutes/1 hr to do that :D

SNAP!! exactly how i wash mine.. but im a little anal, and wash every panel twice.. So i jet wash, wash with hot turtle wax (that stuff really foams up!) then jet wash, then wash again....

Tomorrow im going to clay bar for the first time.. eek, and ive bought a terry towel and some microfibre cloths

Thanks R-jay.. im worried about the waxing too now.. reading back over old threads

The waxing will be fine, the biggest danger of doing damage is in the claying. That wont happen as long as you wash the car well first (your post sounds like you do that anyway) and as long as the clay is not hard. See the claying post from earlier on today for some tips.

What you planning to polish and wax it with ?

well thats the question.. i have crap in my cleaning kit really... i have Autoglym Polish.. and some Turle wax - wax hehe

Maybe i should stop into halfrawds again in the morning

Autoglym Super Resin will be fine after claying. Maybe worth getting some Meguiars Scratch X to use in any trouble spots after claying (paint looked in good shape at the Mids meet so you may not need it), and some Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection to seal it after the Super Resin, reckon that will make it look very liqudy!

And wax straight after polish?

I would rather a dirty car than use a jet wash....we have a pretty well spec'd karcher in the garage but i jus leave it in the garage as its a little harsh for my liking...

By the time I have set the jet wash up, I would have been able to bucket wash the car anyway!

The jet wash is brill for when the car is caked in crap form the roads

I use it sometimes then start my cleaning......
