the problem is Renault aren't very good at communicating to the dealers
10W40 oil - yes you can use it (and its dirt cheap) but it says "RENAULT RECOMMENDS ELF" on a sticker on the back window AND in the handbook
i can count the dealerships/independants that use the correct oil with 1 hand...
the vvt isn't there for power though (wel in my eyes anyway!)
the 15V 172 was one of our customers, it had 150bhp from new!
the timing can be 1mm out and the car be 20bhp down
no thats £4K installed for a motec, thats without the mapping LOL!
but as you say you could have the best ecu on the planet, but a mong mapping it, or you could have the cheapest ecu there is an a genious mapping it
why is motec so expensive? i guess because of their R&D and their...
you car hasn't got 178.2 at the flywheel, no one's car has whatever power they "claim" at the flywheel its a CALCULTAION done to the power recorded at THE WHEELS
you can state you have 148 AT THE WHEELS as thats where the power being transmitted is recorded
nope, you could have it seviced at hyundai or wherever, as long as genuine parts are used and VAT registered
you could take your lambo to ford to be serviced for example
i believe you might be ok if you add engine oil to the mix
i know someone that runs his audi diesel on kerosene/parrafin and he has to add engine oil (1pint per 20L i think he said)
