Re: Any advice on fitting AeroCatch Bonnet pins Lockable Version on a carbon fibre bo
take it to a bodyshop, and use the flush mount ones otherwise a) they look stupid and b) don't fit correctly
we had the carbon surround made by our guy
i can do the trophy wheels with centre caps for £650 (correct offset for 182)
the normal speedlines don't have a renault centre cap (nor can be fitted with one) and the offset is incorrect
its a heat treatment process that alters the molecular stucture of the material (such as normalising)
the problem is why spend £500 say for the process on a gearbox, PLUS the £300 or so to rebuild it when it can quite easily fail again? plus the labour time to pull the box out and whack it back...
there's nothing worth doing to the box thats going to make it any better
the gears themselves aren't an issue, its the casings, bearings and synchros thats the probelm
thats because i drive hard, unlike you you poof! ;)
i'm an instructor too don't forget, and just because you drive fancy stuff or have the money to buy it doesn't mean you know a good handling car!
oh and i'm still getting told the opposite to what you're saying about FCS, but then we did...
Pgti aren't really our thing (at the moment)
track and race cars mag and give the cars to someone who knows his arse from his elbow (such as peter knivett or the editor keith wood) and i'm in
ours has been tested by them twice now
no offense to you john, but i remember you openly admitting that you're not the best driver in the world, so you're view i can't really accept as gospel
give the car to someone like Peter Knivett and see what he thinks about, then i'll start listening
Holister as a man in the know you'll know a TIG'd bracket ain't going anywhere
i've recently done some weld testing and the old saying of "1 inch of weld supports 1 ton" tis true, but you get someone who knows TIG, same material, same length of weld, triple that!
our own Bilstein stuff is 40/50mm!
LOL all the excitment!
yoz has cup racer gear on board, spring rate? HARD
the kit you refer to i assume uses the same/similar rear setup as the old LEDA kit?
you can check it all with taking the bumper off, i'm not a electronic diagnotics expert, but i would suggest taking it to a renault dealer and having it hooked upto the CLIP computer to see if there's a problem (might cost you £40 or there abouts)
