You need to borrow or hire a wet vac. Spray the interior liberally with interior cleaner and scrub with a microfiber then using the wet vac, flush clean water through. Will come up lovely.

In that case, you have to do the cheapest/free things first before you go spending money on it. If it was me, i'd be looking at the TDC sensor as it sounds most likely seeing as it seems to be happening when slowing down/stopping. You can clean them up and try it. If it works then you can buy...

On a 1.2 it will make zero difference what you fit. Just buy a secondhand one (of any make) off here for under £50 and save your hard earned.
