Brakes squeal like a bastid so I've ordered some Mintex 1144 for road use, hopefully that'll make it manageable. Also a sidelight blew so swapped those out for new. Nothing else new to report really, just counting down the days to Mallory

Andy (Snappy) sorted me a new gear gaiter, oem+ approach again so went alacantra with white stitching and moved the stitch from the front which the stock one had to the rear so you can see it. Next job is the handbrake cover to match. Old original New Fitted

If it's later model mk2 it'll be the booster in the rear roof mounted aerial base common fault, i have same and have just bought new genuine base from RPD for 30 quid or something to fix it

I haven't mate, don't think i took any. But smack the outer CV off and should be there in middle of the spline if anything like a phase 1 172 shaft

have you removed the outer circlip behind the hub side CV joints? I had same issue on the mk1 with the 172 conversion, 6/7mm free play. two minutes with a mallet and screwdriver to remove out CV and pop that circlip off and gained an extra 5mm and vibrations all gone. Did that 3 years ago and...

It's a risk, but fast becoming one you may have to take as none rusty RB's get fewer and far between and prices push up to the 5k region and more if you really are set on an RB My rust has got worse..... but I'm in no rush to sort as it's still passing mot's and I know I'll be looking think...
