Couple from a wash other day, paint is so badly marred, needs a buff at the very least like you wouldn't believe!
Raised the ride height too and drives so much nicer.... Doesn't look as cool though, flol
As the car is currently in daily use I elected to insert the adjusters into the rear spring platforms and raise the ride height around 15-20mm all round. Just to make the car slightly more comfortable and chuckable for the day to day usage.
Also gave her a wipe with a rag and sealed the...
Brakes squeal like a bastid so I've ordered some Mintex 1144 for road use, hopefully that'll make it manageable.
Also a sidelight blew so swapped those out for new.
Nothing else new to report really, just counting down the days to Mallory
Probably quite rare as they'll be late registered cars basically they gave away as the mk3 was being sold. Build date could be anytime though, may of sat about years
Andy (Snappy) sorted me a new gear gaiter, oem+ approach again so went alacantra with white stitching and moved the stitch from the front which the stock one had to the rear so you can see it. Next job is the handbrake cover to match.
Old original
New
Fitted
Unsurprising really, to me that says people who've owned it in past haven't kept it long and as such probably unlikely to be project thread or similar kind of folks
Looking great Mark and some cracking progress ticking jobs off. Glad I bought new genuine wishbones last year now for stock ready to sort my subframe etc later this year. So much stuff going nla now it's worrying. Reliving the mk1 nightmare of parts acquisition all over again
not entirely sure as all i have done thus far is buy the part but the tail of wire on it tells me the connector may be a bugger to get to
i was going to google/youtube it tbh
If it's later model mk2 it'll be the booster in the rear roof mounted aerial base
common fault, i have same and have just bought new genuine base from RPD for 30 quid or something to fix it
have you removed the outer circlip behind the hub side CV joints? I had same issue on the mk1 with the 172 conversion, 6/7mm free play. two minutes with a mallet and screwdriver to remove out CV and pop that circlip off and gained an extra 5mm and vibrations all gone.
Did that 3 years ago and...
Lol, no sideways fun and giggles now, Sam is it in the mx, engaging concentration face as realised clio is better and he's made wrong track car choice 🤣
yeah totally normal on yours that. second google pic you linked looks like its been running incorrect though as no band at all on the inside where as yours does have 1mm or so
It's a risk, but fast becoming one you may have to take as none rusty RB's get fewer and far between and prices push up to the 5k region and more if you really are set on an RB
My rust has got worse..... but I'm in no rush to sort as it's still passing mot's and I know I'll be looking think...
