Sadly cars like these tend to have lots of owners.
People buy them and move on after a year so its not something i'd worry about. Just buy it based on condition and service history. And please please buy a proper HPI/Experian check for it.
I sold a 54 plate 1.2 Extreme Clio today to a guy for £2289.
I then found out he was paying £2900 to insure it.....
His Dad said if he'd have bought a Corsa, it was 'only' £2400 to insure it but he was dead set on a clio.
1.2 is the only engine you'll insure. Will still cost you double what you pay for the car though.
Clio's aren't great first cars imo, they're too dear on insurance.
Here we are...
£1200 deposit contribution from Renault, £189 deposit and £189 per month. Can't go wrong really.
I reckon you could get Metallic paint thrown in for free too.

Ask the dealer when you go in. They get given new offers every quarter and dealer support is usually good on clio's. Especially limited edition models.
You have no px and they will be earning money from finance comission. Unless its 0% finance, then it costs them money.
Why are you stripping it if you're not 100% tracking it?
Looks nice though, I love standard cups. They just need to sit a bit lower and they're perfect imo.
Wire wool and some autosol on that exhaust will make it 10 times better boyo.
If we eventually cross paths I'll do it as I have a healthy supply of both and i'm a bit anal with shiny exhausts.
On my Valver.
On my wifes Beetle, I'd have the bottom half wrapped in cream Vinyl, wooden roof rack, Coilovers and chassis notch, front end repainted due to stone chips.
