Diff float will cause excess heat which will lead to the oil changing colour and darkening so that was probably the issue. The welded clip will do nothing to sort the play in the diff and fact it popped again and took the welds with it means those diff bearings are proper fucked

AI the SMS RS2 Inlet makes huge difference, give up a little peak torque for peak power but works well. Not sure I'd bother on a road car though. My track car runs 212bhp/159lbft on the RS2 @Rbdezlee my RB belts were done by Mick at Diamond and it ran 170bhp/147lbft at Surry rolling road on...

Nothing new to report at the mo, still cranking the daily duties. Just down in Welwyn Garden City for work and clocked 192 mark and still returned 44mpg on the trip computer (real world calculated is about 6 lower ish) On the fence at the mo, the rear arch needs work but is it worth it........
