My personal opinion, is throw it in the bin and buy a new one.
If its caused you aggro from day one and now its spontaniously combusted, its trying to tell you something.
You'll have insurance so just claim on it and start again.
I loved my 200. If I was a single guy that needed a commuting car/fun weekend/occasional track toy then thats what i'd have. Absolutely brilliant cars.
BUT!
I'm not single and I have two small children so we grew out of the 200 pretty quickly. And the suspension is WAY too hard for two small...
Any paint will do mate. Just pop to halfords.
Just remember, its all in the prep. So make sure they're rubbed down, dust free, silicone free and completely clean. Put plenty of laquer on and you'll be fine.
I'm the same Steve. I've been through M3, 3 imprezas, Evo, MR2... I always come back to a clio.
I just think they're the best all round package. (unless i suddenly become minted and get a caterham)
We had a peugeot gti once and bought a secondhand pugsport for it and took it to kwikfit.
The snotty bellend of a manager there told us it was company policy not to fit parts that weren't supplied by them.

When we've got some time off over xmas/new year you'll have to pop down to the unit where we keep the track cars! ;)
I think I have sussed this.
Tie a rope through the holes on the wheels (3 0 clock and 9 o clock) and tie it to the back of a car.
Drive off flat out.
Go into the field over the road and find your wheel.
I've no idea, I just went in and asked for 4 tyres fitted for under £100 because I was paying as she's skint! lol.
They're ok though, I was a bit dubious at first as lets be honest, they don't shout quality! lol.
