sounds normal to me, wouldn't worry if no nasty crunches or whining tbh, and even then I tend to keep driving them till they drop out.
if its worrying you a bit bosh some of the proper elf stuff in it, 75W-80 tranself TRW iirc or whatever's superseded it
love the wording, "we are informed by the owner that the car is being exercised every couple of months on a private road"
its not a f**king horse, its a bloody car ffs
good purchase mate, give Danny a shout, him and some of the other lads up Sutton have started Green laneing a bit, it gets messy he's already ripped a sill off his vitari!lol!
could be lambda sensor, that controls idle etc
could also be a kippered injector, need to check your plugs, if one is covered in soot and the rest are fine, its an injector thats fubar
jack car up, clean up area and inspect for where the leak is 100% coming from. if nothing obvious run up the road and back then check again. if still nothing, get the box oil warm on a longer drive again
if your 100% satisfied its that area for the leak then the seal may be unseated or simply...
yes, if you supply the parts then perhaps so, however the OP has just handed an engine over and the builder is supplying the parts, that seems to be the impression I'm getting
to supply your own parts shows a level of knowledge above the layman's; and an interest in the process, so knowledge...
b****cks, your saying that its better for someone who has no idea about engines and no interest to look for technical specs and scribble it on a bit of paper to hand to the person they are trusting and PAYING to do that just for them?
if you provide a service for people you do exactly that...
as above, no way an engine rebuilder can know what the specs are for every engine he/she rebuilds, that's madness
what does surprise me is the blokes lack of willingness to research it himself, asking the customer to do it for him is a joke, the whole reason you pay someone to do it for you is...
a use? eh? they just demist when its frosty, same as the rear window does. the only real issue is the driver/passengers windows that doesn't so you still cant darn well see anyway!lol!
my OH is pretty much given up trying to tell me, the scrap on the drive just multiplies and the shed gets fuller but she seems to be quiet about it all at the moment.........I'm nervous
so epic mafs says that's 99k on the aftermarket map, and as far as I know engines untouched bar servicing/belts etc.
its about to have overhaul on the next 6k interval it 121k, belts, alternator, water pump, dephaser, clutch and gearbox overhaul
should be good for another 99k then :)
it is mate, it was still on when Luke sold it to me and I've not touched it
got to be a decent advert for Paul hasn't it? how many miles were on when you had it done, its sitting on 117k now :)
I've been before few years back in the turbo and pulled 270 odd I think it was that day, and the car did a 12 second pass again at pod not long after so I think their rollers read a little bit pessimistic, so tbh yours is probably making standard if not bit more tommy lad
Jacob, in like flint...
