easy mistake to make this, if you look very carefully, and mean you have to know what your on about to spot this, but really look and you'll notice that its actually a slightly lower spec road version of the 3 series.

broken bottom ends work better than good nick ones, fact, turbo ran better than it ever did with cracked block and warped head, pulled like a train!lol!
standard exhaust is usually one piece, so needs to be chopped in the right place and then simply sleeve the miltek as you suggest
however for the price of a centre section, I'd just get one bought or made up from cat back to suite tbh, why do half a job?!
as above, buyers market so should be able to find a good one for your budget (whatever it may be) if you shop about
if the belts are serviced as they should be there is no need for a 'plate' hence no ones ever bothered!
