no need to remove the ABS rings, 172 cups have the ABS rings on them aswell (just no sensors) everything is interchangable on the brakes

we can get different ratio sets, i've never put on a 1.2 gearbox onto a 172 i'll find out what ratios we can get

from what i remember the koni shocks do lower around an extra 5mm from memory

there's your problem then!!! (ET40 and you would've been fine) get your grinder out (there's a metal flap under the plastic guard where the bumper meets the arch, bend this up on itsef through 180 degrees, then batter it with a hammer, cut away some plastic, job done!)
