seriously??? mine were honestly the worst riding springs I think I have ever had the displeasure of allowing to carry me about, truly shockingly bad. so its mad to hear someone say they are similar to their standard ones. the difference to me was incredible, the 172 on the apex was crashier and...
its not too bad, just a bit fiddly, and ensure you get both shims in, one each side, or all shalt be for nought!
personally for the sake of another 20 odd quid i'd do the calbe too, and ensure the routing is correct, it should drop straight down out the pedal box assembly on the bay side...
pretty sure the pedal assembly kit is available still yes Luke, I have no idea on part number but a search of tech forums on C16v or WC should turn it up
its simple, you look at the damage and make and educated guess as to why it would look like that, its kind of what crash scene investigators do ;) obviously i'm not one of those, i'm just suggesting from the picture what may of occured, I could be very wrong.
clutch is the ratchet on its way out mate, for sure, they teeth on them wear away so it'll be that, get it changed.
as for other niggles, you have mk1 paranoia, its a common thing with old clios, basically until something drops off just turn the stereo up and stop worrying, as otherwise...
well seeing as this seems to be all the rage at the mo, i figured i'd have a dabble and see how i went :)
not too bad for a first attempt i dont think and those little badges are flippin fiddly. i'm not massively happy with the matt finish and no idea how well the vinyl will hold up to exterior...

looks tidy, think I saw this for sale on pistonheads or autotrader perhaps?
none standard suspension is it? looks slightly lower to me, or perhaps i'm imagining it?
I wouldn't have a clue what to do, any ideas on what the options are? essentially I guess if its okay you have to take it back, insurance may cover new keycard if needed??
unfortunately you may be stuck with it however as it'll be down as stolen recovered now won't it??
every cloud has a...
cheers chap, its something I am thinking about doing on the mk1 to get a proper widetrack, its still on old school valver setup with the awful drop link ARB etc, tbh its never been an issue really, car handles great, but I think I fancy tinkering some more is all and perhaps a slightly comfier...
what is the concise list for the swap chip, am I right in thinking its
- hubs
- wishbones/ball joints
- driveshafts
- full brakes so discs, carriers, calipers and pads (and flexis)
- front struts (can use Williams but need to machine hubs down to fit and shim the bolt holes to fit smaller...
wounding mate, hope you can get it sorted, as people have mentioned its all down to how economically repairable the quarter is, rest of the bits should be easy enough to source/paint if needed but if that doorpin has pulled the inside of the door shut out of shape too, could mount up in price...
the phase 2 valver seats are however peerless for comfort, theres nothing else I've ever sat in that's come close, including the obvious Jag etc route, they are sublime for me! sniff, miss them soooooo much! :(
whats up with your pedal chap?
and again I agree, although my Williams' made great daily's I still don't think i'd have one again now, but primarily that was as they were better looked after/maintained than the valvers simply due to clientele/owners.
