you can buy just the boot, however fitting it is less than fun as you have to remove the tripod from the shaft or split the outer CV to get the boot/bearing over the shaft.
personally, i'd just source a decent second hand shaft and take it along with tools to drain oil and swap shaft at the...
i use oz superleggera, pretty light, lightest wheel i've seen in terms of actually weighing a bare rim, they came in at 5.2kg a corner with spigot and centre cap. belive some of the jap stuff is lighter, enkei and rota's are light but never owned any so no idea!
pro race 1.2's were 6.4kg...
ensure you keep the coolant dilution correct coming into the winter as well, basically get it fixed and proper coolant back in before the cold sets in, if your coolant freezes there will be more than a new radiator to worry about ;)
Re: My Phase 1 ITB Daily Runner
simply beautiful car, it should meet my mk1 for a grey car on silver wheel with trinkets meet :)
I would recommend never selling it, its an absolute stunner and entirely yours, well done chap
Small update
since Blyton park earlier in the year the brakes have felt awful, so this weekend I decided to investigate. firstly the rear bias valve was set completely wrong, slack as anything meaning little to know rear brake effort, enough for MOT but insufficient for what I want, so I...
Cheers people :)
Dave you need to boost the bean, sack off the sauerkraut ideas ;)
Finney there's one for sale right now, same age and colour with F4R in it over on c16v, head over for a look see!
nothing really left to do Neil mate, so i'm just whoring the wheels around, got some turinis, some willy wheels and some 2118's on stock as well to sling on it at some point, see what she looks like!
track days and road blasts, just enjoying it now really, its a right giggle and love it just as...
Decided for a bit of a change i'd pop the silver superlegs on the mk 1, gives me a chance to clean and seal the black ones as they've not had a proper clean since i had them refurbed couple of years back :-)
anyway, no more waffle, pics, comments welcome :-)
cheers
Ben
Nice buy man, I was in talks with the chap you bought it off a while back, very nearly pulled the trigger but decided to hold out for a FF spec RB :) I love the powdercoated bay, safe to say mine will get same treatment when I get it :)
popular are mongoose and magnex, both are a bit droney rather than raspy though and imo the mongoose tailpipe is too big, the magnex looks much better on the car.
if you want noisey/raspy then a scorpion or even if you feel v brave an oreca will do the job ;)
I use heavy duty velcro, works a treat and means plate can be removed for cleaning behind it, put back on, swapped wasily for show plate/track plates (or no plate) etc etc
they do go for more cash tbh, but imo they are worth the extra, i love the colour and looked at a few none RB's before being completely sure nothing else would do
and white wheels against it look brilliant, no matter what haters/its been done before opinionated buggers think! :)
as above, dont go mad with stickers, its just not really 2012, mid 90's maybe, but not really scene anymore ;)
personally i would skip the tints and IK as well, but that more personal preference, it wont look too bad if thats your think and tbh IK makes them sound rude, just not really going to...
I got them off JamesT87 chap, sure he said they used to be 'matthew's' or maybe I misheard!either way said they came from someone on the forum who used to have an RB :)
as above, part number isn't actually required, just get mr Renault to turn the dialogues screen to you and point at what you want :)
Renault parts direct do it too, but I think it may actually be cheaper from the dealer...
