mk3 golfs are lovely comfy boats, but personally i'd never own one, enjoy being a passenger in a few of my mates ones over the years though :-)
in other words, clio would be my choice, but again what do you expect, this is a clio forum ;-)
happened here a few times, we deal with batteries so acid spills occur occasionally and the company pay for any damage to cars etc, but from a purely legal stand point I have no idea how it should go tbh
I had nasty one as well a while back , stupidly left the turbo uncovered whilst there...
yesterday I drove it to work, today I will be slackening off the cambelt as its whining and attempting to remove the frontpipe/turbo and manifold to sort the blow I have.
the limiters there for that reason, it protects the engine under heavy use, bounce it all day and it'll be fine, provided the engines well serviced and you watch your temps as others have mentioned
agreed, I was trying to achieve teaser thread with intent to post decent pics later
however all I've achieved is 'blurry crap' ! lol!

Right, update!
Finally decided to crack on and get the car apart and see whats causing the over-pressurizing issue i've been seeing this season on track.
So this is how the car is stood currently, looking a bit forlorn on the...
rofl, i ran a little polo few winters back, last thing to make it over cat and fiddle as it closed, whipped past many a more expensive motor with and without their winter tyres on, absolutely no problem at all, the skinny tyres cut through the snow beautifully, i think they were around 135mm...
cant get 10mm bolt on type hubcentrics as there isnt enough meat on them for the wheel bolts to then bolt to
you need either eibach pro type which are hubdentric but none bolt on and then stud conversion ideally or longer bolts or rock 13mm.
i have run the eibach pros with studs on the turbo...

ai i need to work on the stance on these wheels i think, needs more poke and lower, maybe a bit of rake, but as its the daily i really shouldnt be...
if you run like 50mm spacers or something then perhaps, under heavy track use, may shave a few thousand miles off the bearings life. but basically no it wont cause more wear that you'll notice. talking perhaps changing a bearing every 4 years instead of every 5, lol!
it'll go on yes, with a bit of stretch, but won't be noticeable like the dub boys, tell them what the narrowest is, seem a 165 on an 8" rim, now thats some stretch!!!
if the cars still sitting near o/e height on the coilovers then you should have helpers in there, otherwide the distance from spring platform to top cap on full shock piston extension will be bigger than the height of the uncompressed spring, hence its loose
so other option is to wind the...
mk 3 polo or similar, skinny wheels, next to no weight and bounce it off anything without worrying about damaging it. probably pick one up and insure it for the price of winter tyres in 16" lol ;-)
oh and cheers for the comments boys! i think for the first time since i've owned it i've actually looked back at the car in the carpark. it almost looks good!lol!
