Tom, you need to do a proper track day. One with fellow Clio owners and petrol heads and at a decent circuit. Drive miles to get there if you have to! But it will rekindle your love!
It a switch to over ride the speed limiter. All the cars have them weather the car has a speed limiter fitted or not. (It was an option that came as part of cruise control, not sure it the GT has it as standard though, sorry)
Like a kind of kickdown.
Usual car buying guff really mate.
Check the car properly, HPI it, Make sure the cambelts/auxbelts been done or adjust price accordingly, two keys, AC (if fitted) working and ice cold, tyres, make sure its got a good spare wheel/toolkit, check panel gaps, overspray yadda yadda yadda.
Good...
IT will yeah.
Down the spec a bit! I got a 200 cup on the 999/199 deal and the only options I had were speedlines and paint. I paid the options on the deposit and kept my payments at £199. My deposit was £1580 iirc.
Sell the s**t and buy something else.
We've all been there, chucking money at a car thinking 'just this and it will be all ok' when in reality, its a piece of steaming horse turds. I know i've done it on every Citroen i've ever owned!!!! (But I still buy them? :S)
Don't waste any more...
Buy it at the end, and sell it! Even if its done 40,000 miles in the two years he has it, it will be worth more than the GFV. Finance company won't care how many miles its done as long as someone pays them the end payment!
