Engine went back in today
Before it did tho I gave the engine bay a good clean
Before
After
Fitted the 1.2 heat shield with new nuts aswell.
Next was to address the alternator setup. I took a chance and order the PMS lightweight pulley kit with PAS delete kit a little...
Not done much to the Clio till tonight.
Had a massive tidy up around the car and carried on getting the engine ready to put back in.
Finished the alternator mounting and figured out the belt I needed. Need to get a new mounting bolt that goes through the alternator as its too long.
I also dug...
Sorry lol, I didn't finish what I was typing for some strange reason in that post. I meant did you have a rough idea of when your'll have them finished lol?
Price not to fused lol as I was happy to pay the PMS price lol.
Are they going to be made of billet like the PMS kit? And do you have a rough idea?
This is the last piece of the puzzle for my rear beam but in no rush
Started today off pretty well,
Changed the steering rack bushes for me black powerflex set. Took a little while as my 17mm socket fell into the subframe 😧
Old bushes
Then dragged my engine out the other garage and started putting it together
Torqued the flywheel and clutch up...
Not really. Finally got my parts from Renault so can start finialising stuff for the engine to go back in. Need to fill the rack boot with grease, change the rack bushes, fit flywheel clutch and box and finish my alternator setup then swing inter lump in. Need to get on with it as my mate wants...
Engine is back home from its little tweaking.
Just been tinkering ready to get it back in.
Steering rack in looped and blocked off, I've also blocked off the hole in the bulkhead where the heater pipes pass through with a piece of carbon.
Need to fitted me power flex rack bushes and...
Keep chatting away mate lol I enjoy reading your thread.
Looks like your making good progress. How much were the engine mounts you brought and why they taking so long?
Got my engine back the other day and started working on mine again
Right, collecting my engine tomorrow night :)
It's had a new Dephaser pulley and full cambelt replacement along with special timing dialled in :)
Actually looking forward to getting it back and planing on doing abit of work on the car tonight.
Might just be getting the bug back.
Got a lot...
Usually there m10x1.0 or m12x1.0.
Them blue and silver unions look like aeroquip fittings no idea what size that they are lol
What size master cylinder did you go for?
Well it's more than likely staying but motorvation is low to get anything done.
Only thing I've done is take the engine for a new belt, dephaser and timing altered.
Took the engine in the boot of my Leon lol
I'm sure I've seen fancy/uprated/aftermarket/custom breather plates somewhere but can't find any when I search lol
Anyone know of anything like this? Mines a 172 and looking the get the open neck that goes into the inlet blanked off.
Thanks.
The light was a prank that my mate played.
I gave him my hole saws and drill to borrow, when he returned them I was out and told him the garage was open and to put them under the Clio.
I got back home to find massive holes in my headlight lol
Well insurance and tax are due on both me cars and a house has come up that I like, house a garage and is decently priced so need a bit of extra cash quick. Desperately trying to work somert out.
Typical. Lol all that for a crank pulley lol
So need the tools. I'd like a set of grpN's like yours if I have to buy some tho lol. They available from anywhere?
I've got a decent gun no so that's no probs.
So will I not lose the timing undoing the crank bolt then? Thought I would?!
How do I know I've got the crank pin in correctly? Sorry I'm used to vag engines.
