The Pre is looking very good, lots of videos demonstrating the UI on YouTube. If I cannot upgrade to the new iPhone early with o2 then the Pre should be due for release at the end of my existing contract and will definitely be considered.

I'm not sure I follow your question but to place text onto the arc you use the relevant tool in the text palette. Draw your circle/arc and click this with the type on a path tool.

The password is whatever your router/access point has configured it to. It's not a password set by the iPhone but by the wifi network.

Have you accidentally restricted it? Go to settings/general/restrictions and check to see if restrictions are enabled.

The PS3 seems to tick most of the options that you are looking for so is probably worthy of consideration. Alternatively a MacMini would be worth looking at and combining it with Boxee/XBMC.
