The iPhone is better than any N series Nokia I have owned. I love browsing the net while away from home and on the iPhone that is a pleasure, on the Nokia's it is awful.
The Origin database is the best around which does tempt me towards buying the PogoDrive, the Alert is not worth considering as it's a identical price for less.
I've never used a Navman system, TomTom was always my preferred sat nav.
Yeah it's mentioned in the App thread. Not a bad download.
They have already had over 205,900 downloads but for now it will remain free as they have been experiencing server issues. When the system is working correctly they will begin to charge for the app.
A 2G iPhone with v2.0 firmware only lacks 3G and the GPS chip. Currently the GPS chip isn't really very useful and as already said 3G is not greatly faster than Edge if available to you.
The 3 tuners is better than any HD content, a major reason why I wouldn't bother with Sky HD. I've never been overly impressed with HD broadcasts either on Sky or Virgin, not worth the additional £10 per month charge on Sky.
Other than the 3G outages the only time my signal drops is when at home where I am only just able to get a 3G signal. When this happens it'll swap between a full strength Edge/GPRS signal to a 1 bar 3G signal and back again at random intervals.
I have had no 3G access for most of the weekend, it's a ongoing o2 fault mainly in Scotland. If I disable 3G then it will connect via Edge or GPRS instead for now.
