It really is very easy to get the hang of. It's 2 years now since I bought my iMac and left XP behind and I don't regret it at all. The Mac will effortlessly run Windows too if required.

The performance of them is far better than the spec sheet would suggest, especially when your mind will be comparing it to a Windows PC with that spec. It doesn't really equate though.

The prices of the iPod's should definitely fall if internet rumour is correct. iTunes 8 also looks like a good improvement.

Having only just completed the full launch of the iPhone 3G to all planned territories within the last 2 weeks I would not think launching a new iPhone product would be a great move unless it is a hugely stripped down version. You never can tell with Apple though so I look forward to next Tuesday.

I think the event will mainly focus on iPod's and Mac's. I'd be surprised if they launch a new iPhone so soon after the launch of the 3G version.

The entire iPod range is due an update next week so I would expect revisions to the look of them all including the Touch. The keynote speech is next Tuesday and they are usually available in the shops within 7 days or less.

A Touch but don't buy before the updated Touch is announced next Tuesday.

I think the exclusive deal with o2 was for a minimum of 18 months so I would be surprised if any other UK network was selling the iPhone any earlier than May 2009. The iPhone will be locked to o2 but hopefully can be unlocked soon.

I can't see how they'd enforce that. You are paying full price for the handset so it's yours to use as you please regardless of what o2 think.

It's not usually crucial these days as most phones will have lithium-ion batteries which are not susceptible to any memory issues. Which phone did you end up getting?

I may be tempted to buy myself one of these.

Oddly these issues some to cause problems on some phones but not others. My 3G handset runs fairly reliably whereas a friend with a 2G handset running 2.0.2 has nothing but problems.

Yeah it's a nice phone and a good size but I prefer the Omnia as it has more functions and the ability to install sat nav software onto it.

Avast is good and free :) I ditched AVG last year.

i900 - 112 x 56.9 x 12.5 mm iPhone - 115.5 x 62.1 x 12.3 mm Almost identically sized and the i900 is slightly thicker. Perhaps you are comparing the Samsung Tocco to the iPhone? 98.4 x 55 x 11.6 mm

Excellent phone but not greatly smaller than the iPhone. Slightly thicker too I think.

My iPhone works and charges with my Alpine iDA-X001 perfectly. The App Store is excellent and improving daily.

If I didn't own a iPhone I'd probably choose the Samsung i900 Omnia before I'd buy another N series phone.

No problems at all for me. It used to reset and stay on the Apple logo for a minute or two when v2.0 was released but I've had no issues recently. Does holding the Sleep and Home buttons in together until it resets not resolve the problem?
