My connection speed usually hits full speed on most downloads.

You've not set any speed cap in Newsleecher at the bottom left corner?

David I think most things seem to hit the newsgroups at the same time as torrents but the added speed and security of newsgroups is worth the money. Giganews will allow you to sign up for a 10GB download trial, all you need to pay for are some Newzbin search credits. This way you can see if it...

1.1.4 offers nothing new at all so I'd not rush to upgrade if I were you.

I think I pay £15.50 p/month with Giganews and that includes SSL. Excellent service.

Working perfectly for me http://www.downloadziphone.org/ I'm looking forward to the SDK details tomorrow :)

I've never had any problems with Giganews but they are not the cheapest provider. Powerusenet seem to offer a similar service for slightly cheaper inc 256bit SSL

At home I have no 3G but a great Edge connection, same at my work location. I didn't say it was faster but that it appears to be no worse for browsing speed. That may be down to a more efficient browser on the iPhone. Ideally I'd prefer the option to connect using all 3 area dependent...

The N95 web browser is crap, Safari on the iPhone is the best mobile browser I've used and as I'm in an Edge area the browsing speeds are no worse than I used to have with my 3G handsets. 3G coverage in Glasgow is worse than Edge in the areas I work/live. The iPod functionality is better than...

I think you can safely ignore Keydogg's opinion as narrow minded crap.

    Got a mac today.

You'll get the hang of the new OS in no time. I'll not go back to a Windows machine again.

I feel the same way. I had a quick play with my old N73 last week and it reminded me of how much I hated it. The keypad on that phone is terrible.

Not everyone will like it. I hate texting on SE phones but it does not mean everyone will.

Most of that will be automatically inserted too but even if not it's still quick and easy.

Yeah at first I was crap at texting but after 2 or 3 days I was up to speed. Even if you do hit an incorrect letter the iPhone usually auto corrects it anyway. The mistake several people make is to correct every error manually which obviously will take time in comparison to predictive text on a...

The camera is pretty poor in anything other than sunny locations but that's not a problem for me anyway. Texting is very easy and I am in no way slower with the iPhone than when I was using any Nokia phone. I actually prefer texting on the iPhone.

    WD My Book Studio 500gb

That is one of the options I am considering, still cannot decide between a 500GB or 1TB.

    I agree 100%. Best phone I've owned.

    WD My Book Studio 500gb

In most of the tests I've read the firewire 400 connection is always faster in practise over USB2 on a Mac.

    WD My Book Studio 500gb

Whichever option I choose will preferably have a Firewire 400 port rather than only USB2.

Time Machine may not be an issue as I'm considering rolling back to Tiger as I have found my iMac with Leopard to be running slower and with more problems than I ever had previously.

    WD My Book Studio 500gb

I had considered the 500GB Time Capsule from Apple but it is a rip off in comparison to the alternative options available. I am tempted to order the 1TB drive but doubt I really need it. I've survived for 18 months with only a 250gb internal drive.

    WD My Book Studio 500gb

I'm considering buying one of these for use with my iMac, at £97 delivered they seem reasonable value. Has anyone here tried or own one of these and able to advise if they are reliable? http://www.wdc.com/en/products/Products.asp?DriveID=374

The anti glare screen protector that Apple sell is excellent and doesn't show fingerprints as much as the Crystal set they also sell. The film has cut out sections for the speaker and home button.

    My new GPS reciever!

Very cool and a good price. My brother bought the Holux receiver that Orange are selling cheaply although I think it cost £5 more than yours.

If you are using a standard unhacked iPhone on a official tariff then you simply connect it to iTunes and it will allow you to update the firmware if your computer has a active net connection.
