For your o2 contract you will not sign anything in store, the agreement is confirmed online via itunes.

This may have changed in a recent update but when ziphone downgraded the bootloader to 3.9 it could not be reversed. iliberty uses a fake 3.9 bootloader that can be returned to 4.6 with the click of a button. I think the latest pwnage tool is able to upgrade even a ziphone downgraded...

Other than 3G and possibly an upgraded camera there may not be any other differences which can not be supported via a firmware update. Unfortunately all we can do for now is guess at what will be announced by Apple in June, possibly even nothing :D You can usually update to the new software...

Yes but you transfer to o2 rather than cancel with CPW. Ask CPW for the transfer code as described in my post and then buy your iPhone and sign up for a o2 account. All billing will then be directly with o2 and not CPW.

You were/are entitled to switch with o2 anyway as you were a customer prior to the iPhone announcement last September. You could have swapped to an iPhone on release day last November without any penalty from o2. It may be worth waiting for a likely June announcement of the 3G iPhone. o2...

Where did you get a June 1st announcement date from? I cannot see that been accurate as it is a Sunday. More importantly I think any announcement will be made at the Apple conference June 9th-13th.
