If you must go wireless then I'm out as I don't have any knowledge on them, however if you're open to wired then for £400-500 you can bag a better system than any of the above (no offence guys), but it's worth reading up a bit before doing so!

As Al G says BK seem to be the ones that everyone buys under £600-700 or so. I personally have a £300 Wharfedale Powercube SPC 10 which is a 150w 10" down-firing sub, I like the sub but I really have no experiences of anything better such as BK, only worse ones like the Tannoy or Onkyo £100...

I would say it's easily £80 better, retina is worlds apart from the original screen. I agree the old screen is horrible. My favourite is the Nexus 10 screen, even sharper again and a better aspect ratio imho.

My brother-in-law has just bought a Sonos system which are great, but even though he's spent about £700 on it, it still doesn't sound as good as my Denon AVR1912 Wharfedale Fronts and Powercube 10 Sub. If I was in the market now I'd get the Denon 2113 without blinking.

Bloody hell. I'm on 11mb at home and think it's fantastic! I can download a 1080p movie in about 2 hours. But then again, I've never had the ability to download the same file in around 20 minutes which is what I'm guessing you're used to. That would be awesome!

To be fair my 3mb at work now feels to me the same way 56k felt to me all those years ago. Amazing how perspectives changes, this connection is effectively about 70 times faster!

Lol yes! On 56k I used to connect at about 41k on my PCI modem, that would get me a ping of about 180. I remember being really jealous because my mate bought an external v92 modem and connected at about 52k and his ping was always around 140. He was the boss!

I'm currently on 12mb which I consider quite fast cos we're out in the sticks. It's with Sky and is unthrottled (for downloads) at all times which is great. At work we have a 15 machine running on only 3mb, it's an absolute pain in the arse. Can't do anything about it though, no way to upgrade.

£100 is good for 9. I've been paying about £18 each for Philips which are the best make for this type of stuff.
