I agree one of the weakest parts of android is the web browsing. Pinching/moving around still isn't smooth enough, it's not bad, it's just not as good as iOS.
Advantages - smoother, quicker, more features.
Disadvantages - quite a few people having teething problems which can be solved with some technical knowledge and the ability to google.
For me personally its far better than ICS, so smooth and quick it's ridiculous. My battery went downhill...
I'm curious to know this too.
I had my first proper play with an iPad mini last night. I will say one thing, it's nowhere near as small as I thought, perhaps that's to do with the 4:3 ratio which isn't such a bad thing on a 7" screen. Still wish they'd increased the DPI though, that was very...
No this is not normal behavior! Never heard of this fault but try going into Location Settings and un-ticking "Use Wireless to help determine Location". See if that helps.
Download Odin for your PC here. (You might need to be a member of XDA Developers to get this, if you can't access it just search google for Odin v3.04.
Download the official Samsung UK BTU Rom here.
Instructions For Flashing Firmware:
Extract the firmware
Open the included Odin
Turn off your...
Just flash the Official S3 JB ROM yourself via Odin. It's extremely easy, doesn't require any hacking or rooting and takes about 15 minutes. I've flashed the non-branded (BTU) version and it is nothing short of fantastic. JB really is Android at it's very best.
Thank god someone said this. When the retina iPad came out earlier this year everyone was going crazy at how good the screen was (rightly so, it's sharp as f**k), now suddenly they don't care and there's hardly any difference.
The iPad mini does look great but make no mistake, the screen is a...
Sorry mate but that is absolute BS. They did it for one reason and one reason only, because they knew people like you would buy it anyway, then in another 12 months gush over the fact the new model has better screen. Seriously I can't believe some people take in this marketing b****cks and...
Disagree, I have two zones of speakers which means 50% of the time I'm not in the same room as the Denon. To use the original remote I would have to get up and go into the living room, do what I want to do, then come back, sit down and see if it had the desired effect or whether I need to change...
I agree with you both on this. Sn00p you are basically exactly the same as me; previously had an iPhone because it was the best thing on the market by far, now Android have caught up I've made the switch (albeit I did it a year earlier). The Google ecosystem is coming together now which is...
The Note 2 looks an awesome phone but for me it is a little big. I went for the GSIII and that screen is perfect for me, a good balance of screen real estate whilst still being able to use the thing comfortably.
I know what you mean. I'd like to see what stock Android would look like on this, but to be fair I don't mind Touchwiz. It has some handy little features, but also lacks some features of Sense 4.0. A mixture of both would be great.
I wouldn't say mental, I mean if a flagship phone comes out tomorrow it doesn't exactly make the S3 crap. Right now the S3 is (arguably) the best phone on the market, the only thing anyone could say it's missing is 4G and for those who don't care (like me) it makes no difference.
I've just put...
I find bigger is better for everything because you can get more content on the screen rather than scrolling around all the time. Web browsing, emails, photos, all of these are a better experience on a bigger screen. Just like PC Monitors and TVs, most people go for bigger for more enjoyment.
As...
I'm not sure why people are so fussed about 4G. HSPA+ 42mbps is plenty fast for a phone surely? Let's be honest, on a (home network) PC once you get past 20mb you can't tell the difference unless you're downloading or streaming, but even streaming full HD stuff it never catches up. I can...
I had SE phones until the N80 came out which I thought was the dogs at the time, it EVEN had Wifi! Then I hacked it to become an N80 IE
Then came the N95 and I thought that was unbelievable, looking back now it was terrible!
There are so many stupid points from both sides in here it really has become a pointless thread so I'll make my last reply this one, merely to point out people making stupid claims.
LOL Rhys.
Forgetting the issue with iphones when they had loads of consumers going to watchdog about iPhones...
Rhys as much as I will defend Android to the end I think you are kind of missing the point. It's only geeks like us that care about f4st proc3ss0rs and 64,000,000GB of RAM, 80% of people just care about usability. This is what Tom is talking about. At the end of the day the GS3 is equally as...
Well I thought the advert was quite funny, but it's never going to appeal to anyone other than existing Android/Samsung fans. Funny all the same though. It's not all about specs, it's not all about UI, it's a mixture of both and whether you lean to one or the other is your individual choice...
Some good views in this thread. It's quite nice that many people are giving Android the respect it wasn't getting two or 3 years ago.
I've just bought an S3 after owning a HTC Sensation for a year and a 3GS for two years previous to that. The 3GS was a great phone, by far the best at the time...
