I always buy from http://www.naonline.co.uk/ as they offer a good tradein scheme which I've made full use of over the past 4 years.
Origin B2 costs £379 and is worth the higher cost.
Personally I reckon you should try the age old technique of driving there and shouting at them lots until they decide to fix if for you there and then.
I found the Roadpilot MicroGO worked better than the RA Compact and costs the same new (£199)
I'm trading the MicroGO in for another Origin B2, tradein of £150 which is not so bad for a 1 month old unit.
I faced a similar problem when driving my c2 vtr through to the dealer last weekend when collecting my 172. 59 miles of fuel remaining with a 50 mile journey ahead. Unfortunately the predicted miles remaining dropped sharply soon after I joined the motorway. I made it but I doubt the car had...
I've owned pretty much every brand of gps camera detector that has been sold in the UK and only one of them is consistently good and uptodate, that's the Origin B2. It's so good that I'm actually selling my newly purchased Roadpilot MicroGO in order to return to the B2 for the 3rd time...
:D You're one of the lucky few who never endured my 'import' car thread.
No alarm fitted to my 172 as standard :( Should mean I get a even better aftermarket version which is always good :)
I checked out the location of the installer Billy but I do not think he'd travel the distance required to fit the alarm into my car - 450 miles. Thanks for the link though as it had some good alarm info for me. It looks like I don't really need the Ai606 as the car already has an immobiliser...
I've got £250 available to install a cat1 alarm into my 172. I was planning on installing the Toad Ai606, is this a good alarm or should I consider an alternative?
Thanks
An update for all those people who haven't lost the will to live due to reading this thread previously and who continue to come back for more :D
I'm keeping the car. The dealer came to an agreement regarding the alarm and locking wheelnuts. All is good and I'm finally happy to say I own the...
All I'm looking for is agreement from them to pay for the alarm and all is good. The salesman has just phoned me and requested that I fax him the alarm fitting quote and he'll see what he can do.
I'm not sure. For now I've said I'll return the car but I'm not 100% sure that's what I really want to do. Do you reckon £6350 is a fair price for a imported 02 172 with 33k miles on the clock? On looking online the same dealer are charging closer to £8000 for the same spec of car but at...
The garage have contacted me, they will provide locking wheel nuts and the window etchings but will not install a alarm for me. Rather than do that they have offered me a full refund and a return of my original car.
I have paperwork from them which states the car is not Imported when we now know it is, apparently that is enough to rule the car as not matching the description. They also told me the car was full UK spec. I'll report back how I get on.
Re: Discovered my 172 is a Import
I chatted with Trading Standards this morning and they say I'm fully covered by law (Sale of Goods Act). The garage have 3 options (I am able to demand any of these 3).
1. Bring the car to UK Spec
2. Replace the car like for like but with a UK model and not...
Re: Discovered my 172 is a Import
I thought I better lift the spirits of this thread by telling you all that the car is excellent :) Really happy with the performance of it, even while driving slowly and changing gears early it still feels fast. Plenty of pull low down the rev range which is...
Re: Discovered my 172 is a Import
Thanks for the replies :) The etching info would be great if you can remember the web address.
Spoke with the garage today and they'll contact me tomorrow lunchtime to discuss what will or will not do.
