I see, that makes sense.
So as im pushing the 172 master cylinder into the servo, the resistance im pushing against could be the pushrod of the master cylinder and not the servo itself, meaning the brakes would not be fully released?
Yeah, the circuits now make sense - cool.
I was just going to connect up the lines as they were, so that should be fine. Well, thats if I can find any sort of solution for the fitment M10/M12 etc.
When you say to blow through the reservoir ports, what am I checking for?
Il check the depths...
Il get a few pics of them both next to each other from above tomorrow for comparison... From the face where the seal is the amount of rod showing and the length of the housing differ, but the overall length is the same.
Its hard to explain, but when you fit the cylinder to the servo you have to...
It seemed to fit into the servo fine, it was sat out by around 5mm and had to gently push it to seat it fully (like pushing against a weak spring)...
The big fat bit the rod comes out of is not as long as the Mk1 item, but physically the two are the same length from the bolt mounting/seal...
Its got chunks missing out of the center bore where its hit I think - bolt holes look f*cked too, guess they would have been though if they have come loose and been spinning. I think I better keep an eye out for another single wheel!
Yep 100%.
Mk1 lines screw into the rear two holes perfectly...the front two holes are a bigger thread, M12 more than likely but ive no idea why the f*ck they are, seems pointless
In particular which lines are which going into the master cylinder...
Trying to figure out why the rear two holes on the cylinder are M10 and the front holes are like M12...
Thanks.
Not really, lol. Just removed all the plastic backing in the bumpers and drilled the front to make it look different than every other Mk1 with the single hole :)
Quite an eventful day with plenty of CS'ers there. A very damp start with rain until about 10am - then the sun came out and the track was fully dry by lunch which was great.
The track was slippery as f*ck early on, especially with R888s - but once dry it was a lot more fun than I expected it...
I replaced the inner gaitor on mine fine, I got the boot from sideways danny and fitted it to my 172 shaft. Its nowhere near the engine block if you use the same type of clips as that came off!
Only about 15min really in the morning, lol. There is 7 of us on the Sat night anyways, then going to FCS, then 4 of us on the Sunday night for the trackday...all the others who are doing the trackday are there too, Andyrg/Jingo etc
Hes only got 3/4 days! He has got to drive it to Birmingham on Friday, then carry on en-route on Saturday to the hotel us lot are staying at for FCS, lol.
We're getting close... Idle issue now sorted and revs up nice. All the lights/electrics work as do all the 172 clocks...
After filling the coolant with water and finding an inch round hole in the radiator Adam had bought we fitted my spare, bled it through with water again to check. All fine...
