    looking at a valver....

Looks tidy - Just check the sills and underside very well to make sure there are no rust issues, also check everything that would be on the MOT. He says it will fly through but I'd still be checking every last thing

Re: Mk1 F4R'd Track Car Project [2010 Winter Rebuild] Yummy. Subframe done too, its come out well with all the seam welding. I did a bit more welding on it before taking it to the powdercoaters from the last pics. Radiator Mount.. In the middle of sorting a solid steel bush...

    172 Cup Toy

Sigh! Who mentioned cup racers...? - Pair of new wishbones = £?? - Set of new bushes (As said I didnt care weather they improved performance or did this or did that b*llocks etc) = £60 Now you can't buy the standard bushes from Renault seperate can you, so what if I wanted my wishbones...

    172 Cup Toy

I fitted PowerFlex's to my 172 Wishbones as the standard rubbers were completely shot. Decided to get them instead of spending the same amount on two new wishbones, as they will last twice as long weather they do make a difference or not to the handling... After fitting the metal sleeves and...

    MK1 Clio Hybrid

As said megane bottom end is common, I had one in mine with a williams head and it was fine... With regards to the 172 conversion, its just the wiring that is the complicated bit. The physical engine fitting can be done in a few hours. I wrote a guide thats been used by a few people and makes...

    Project 172 **** ITB'S - 204bhp *** Redline Featured ***

Re: Project 172 **** ITB'S - 204bhp *** February Redline Feature TBH its not something he needs to worry about. Hes got an oil cooler which most 172 track cars dont, so thats plenty of reassurance. As long as there is enough oil in it there will not be a problem

How much to refurb my FK Konigsports????

Send FK an email...prices might be better than you expect... For example I had two Gaz Adjustable Shocks, sent them off and had them refurbed for 12.50+VAT each for new seals and internals...

    Throttle Pedal Sticking?

Yeah it still feels very strong, easily snaps back too. Butterfly clears everything on the inside without resistance, think im just going to keep an eye out for another throttle body, not in any major rush. Some days it will be fine and not happen once, others (like today) it happens every time...

    Throttle Pedal Sticking?

Yeah ive cleaned it many times, must have had it off the inlet 5 or 6 times... Got plenty of grease still on it too... Didnt really improve it at all for me, I think the spring has just gone 'slack'

    Throttle Pedal Sticking?

I would imagine a replacement spring would not be hard to get made. Ive had plenty made as one-offs for various machines and components in the past, I dont see why it would be any different if I took it apart and took the spring to them

    Throttle Pedal Sticking?

I meant Mk1 as in Mk1 (my car lol)......but I think the 172 Ph1 pedal is very similar. Yes it only does it when warm, and yeah sometimes lifting the pedal will do it - but that depends on how you've got your cable setup, I have a bit of slack when its in the fully up position so that does not...

    Throttle Pedal Sticking?

The spring could be knackered and not returning the butterfly fully... The pedal in a Mk1 is the simplest thing ever, its just a piece of metal and a block bolted to the car, no spring or anything on there, the cable/throttle body is what returns the pedal upwards. Also, if I tap the...

    Throttle Pedal Sticking?

Mine does this and has been getting worse, although im certain its the throttle body. Ive had it off and apart, cleaned the springs and mech, refitted with a brand new throttle cable and it still does it. Re-routed the cable too and still no change. Thought it could be the idle control valve...

Mine fit to FK's perfectly fine...just seems AST have f*cked up with the design of the nuts completely this time round :dapprove: I got them cheap off another member early in 2009, and the bonus was not having to drill holes round the strut top! Whats these Gaz ones that are apparently being...
