Yeah, everything else is just simple compared to the UCH/Ph2 setup, all single wires as said, im in the middle of making another loom at the moment ready to go aftermarket in the next few weeks....so much easier than trying to mess around re-doing parts of the loom thats already there...
Il PM...
VEMS should have an output for tacho, i know laine's did over on clio16valver. the 172 ph1 clocks tacho input is just a single wire so thats easy. Same with coolant temp/coolant warning light/fuel level/fuel light, all single wires that can just be swapped...
Although, he had to use a 10k...
I have used it for what I wanted to this summer, and dont want it sat around all winter doing nothing. I was really impressed with the image quality, even wide open at 400mm. Its not too heavy and produces some really good colors...
yeah, they have got a good setup, mainly into the VAG scene.....but their figures always seem to be wayyyy out. Guy I know ran a standard 172 on there, made 198bhp with no mods, LOL.
take it to a garage and get it pressure bled on a ramp and see if you can see anything coming out at the various points round the car
rear brake compensator on the rear beam is a possibility though
you would need an inlet manifold, management, etc etc etc
It goes to the top hole on the matrix yep, then the bottom hole runs back down to the front of the block and tpieces into the lower rad hose..
I cant really show you pics of mine as I dont have a heater matrix
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
yeah, heated screens are available for the mk1 clio for around £200ish apparently, but I chose not to get one incase of chips etc on trackdays, wouldnt want to be replacing them :( Im on my 2nd screen at the moment!
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
Not done anything since I removed them no, but I am going to be putting one/two 12v heater/blowers at the front of the dash top underneath so it comes out of the rear vents onto the windscreen, Just not got round to it yet!
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
Not sure, but Matteh will be able to confirm I guess...
I just basically copied what whiteley had done by chopping the sunroof frame down the bare minimum, bolting it back onto the car, then sealing a piece of polycarbonate in cut to the shape of the glass...
Matteh's was higher, but still the wrong map completely.
Also, they were not using the JB3 box that I was (1.8) i dont think, so the speed on the limiter would have been higher (longer ratios)...
When we asked them what limiter theres was at when we first had the issues, they said 'we have no...
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
you could get past 800kgs, without the cage I would probably be around 785-790! Its got...
Lighter Engine (F4R)
Removed Bonnet Skins
Removed Boot Skin
Removed Door Skins + Bars
All Windows Polycarbonate
Sunroof Frame Cut Down + 3mm Polycarb rather...
Just over 6k, it used to bounce off the limiter in 5th at around 120mph lol
Dont think it was only the limiter though, the idle was terrible and low revs was crap....ignition timing and fuelling had to be all wrong too I guess!
Il await the thread asking why his limiter is less than 7200 or why it made 140bhp on the rollers :rasp:
Mine would outrun 172/182s with the 1.4 map on! Got the 172 map on and the power was unreal!
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
What hotel is that? Replied in the other thread in Trax forum
Hmmmm, might be something to look at over winter. Will have see what else happens first and see if the cost is worth it lol
