well.....what hub bolts are you using at the moment, the valver ones? did you put the valver ones through the hub to check size? they should be 1mm to small, not a spot on fit, so the hub has got room to move technically thats the only reason i used 172 bolts really, as they are spot on fit to...

yes should fit perfectly fine. im running williams coilovers (fks) with 172 AST solid top mounts. I had the holes for the bolts on the coilover made 1mm larger (0.5mm off all the way round), to accomodate 172 hub bolts and nuts... Wiring, are you keeping the valver loom inside etc and merging...

its because they are valver coilovers... williams shocks/coilovers are different, due to them being made for williams widetrack the exact same happens if you run valver shocks on williams widetrack you now have 172 widetrack that is even wider than williams widetrack, with valver shocks, so...

Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project Nah mate, not a mechanic... Yes the engines stock so far, just no power steering/ac pump etc... Its a 172 Ph2 bottom end, and a Ph1 head... Fitting cams shortly (as above), and a few other bits.... The gearbox is a 1.8 16v (Valver) JB3 gearbox :)

me and whiteley are at the other renaultsport days, cadwell + oulton im trying to squeeze another couple in if any come up at a decent price too!

will see what mine weighs tommorow hopefully polycarb windows all around, boot skin removed, all inner bonnet skins removed, no dash etc....still got inner door skins and sunroof to loose!

Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project yep they time up with the standard renault timing tools, as other cams available for the f4r do.....they will run on a standard ECU/map, but to get the best gains, a remap is best!
