yeah, i think they most definatley are....its the same on valver/williams
valver rack isnt really wide enough to take the williams widetrack, but saying that 90% of people just wind the track rod ends out until its long enough....hardly any thread remains holding it in though, not ideal...
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
;)
sorry about the lack of decent updates, been busy trying to get loads done!
Wiring is there now, everything working, all tidy inside, can only see two runs of conduit (clocks and stalks)....OBD port is located above the pedals, too...
Finished a few...
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
interesting, well I bumped the Kam racing AST thread before, if there is no reply by the morning im gona chase a refund...
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
ive not pulled out, yet....and I cant be arsed emailing powerstation, if Kam are having problems getting hold of powerstation themselves, im not going to be any better.
Its just been one big joke from the start with it really, dont know how long its been...
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
drove it up and down the road earlier a few times, and yeah, its kinda nippy, lol
Still no air filter or anything on it, steering column not attached properly, wires everywhere, but it drives :)
Still waiting on braided lines, AST top mounts (maybe next...
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
not much of an update....but here goes...
Throttle cable mount finished, after making the extension (read back) to make the throttle cable nice and tight, instead of slack, the bonnet would not close. The bolt was too long....time for some thinking.
First...
172 ph1 with cable throttle in my mk1, idle control valve on the back of the inlet. The pipe that comes off it, usually goes to the elbow the airbox attaches to, correct?
Im not running this, air filter is in scuttle panel, with a 90* bend, no attachment for this pipe...
Its 'sucking' on idle...
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
fucked off waiting for those now, will probably arrive in a few months at this rate.
Fitted the standard top mounts back on, but I cant be arsed getting the tracking setup with those on, as itl all move when I put the solid top mounts on....so im stuck...
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
course it does lol
just about finished the wiring (well to make it roadworthy, lights etc)
all im waiting on is farking brake lines, so I can bleed the system and drive it properly!
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
ive got every receipt for everything, in a box.....im not going to count it though, not for a while anyway...lol
I dont want to know really, only live once eh ;)
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
i am the rig-up KING.
In further news, all the lights are now working, bar the rear fogs. Hazards, indicators, headlights, sidelights, brake lights, everything....
Also re-fitted the wings....
Thats about it, hoping the brake lines will arrive in the morning!
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
yeah, its turned into a custom loom lol
amount of things removed and things to re-join i started another from scratch....been worth it though, should be nice and tidy :)
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
another 6 hours on the wiring today....slowly getting there, all the front lights now working...
Inside a bit tidier too...
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
yeah, position 2, and 'start' position are now redundant...
basically, key in, position 1, press the button...
had to move the wires round on the key barrel, but basically position 2 is now position 1 :)
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
Thanks for the comments everyone.
I now only have one switch inside, hazards.
Rear fogs are turned on in via the rear wiper position on the stalk, as i no longer have a rear wiper. Rear wiper on = means rear fogs are on, rear wiper off...fogs off :)
Few...
