HT leads cleaned and attached
New fuel lines fitted from the hard pipes to the reg/rail
And there's that little woggle for the TDC sensor wire :)
Cleaned, painted and fitted the power steering pump rear support, this is also an earth point and the bottom bolt holds the oil level...
Refitted some easy trim and stuff while I was sorting, this is the primary intercooler bracket/surround (the 21 has two intercoolers from the factory)
Clutch line located and connected to the slave
Oil cooler/Aux coolant pump bracked refitted too
And then the engine loom mostly routed...
New plug needed here
Cleaning and sorting this took so much time, but its done properly so I lobbed it back in the car and then started sorting through boxes.
Garage is like a sweat box at the moment! I lost nearly two kilos on Saturday lol - still, cracked on! Got all the bellhousing bolts in, I couldnt find the ones with the car so I had to raid my stash of spares.
Water pump back housing threads cleaned and fitted
Turbo support fitted...
I'm also a believer in building the car you want, not the car other people want and worrying about resales value, mileage, and whatever else. I've got some experience in the area with the Vee too, drop me a line if you need any help, theres a great community of owners here in the UK. I've...
I'd really like to get another one done properly like we had in 2015 (wow is it that long ago?!) - maybe next year. If we could tempt him up again and get him out with Katie for the infield track pictures....
Over two thousand images from the pro photographer here, watermarked low res.
If you want full resolution, they're £1 each up to £10, £10 gets you unlimited - any and all you want up to the full package. All proceeds to the CSF charity...
To clarify, a £10 donation gets you unlimited images, as many as you want.
Dont forget the image ID and your email address, you can also DM me with requests on here or on TR.
Yeah the actual file transfer is OK, but we are going to reduce the size and watermark them, and make you pay a small donation to the CSF charity for full res/unwatermarked. It cost us £300 so we'd like to see whatever is recovered go to the chosen cause.
These are 10% of original res/size and...
Hit me up next time and i'll take you for a passenger ride.
My car has a few tweaks to make it handle better, it has a longer wheelbase than other Phase 1 V6's, wider tyres on the larger phase 2 wheels with some seemingly odd tyre pressures, and some camber mods. Its very usable now, it took...
CSF and back - no problems! Even in the extreme heat, although it was nice to know both my sidepod fans are still working properly haha.
Props to Katie Rose for the pic, my 220 is a pretty car but the Vee...
I got a pax ride and it was on another plane of existence. The thing is absolutely savage. If I could fit in one to drive, i'd go get myself one... but I can't. Too tall for anything Lotus make, my legs simply dont fit.
Thankyou to the Admins for organising and working to make this event possible. Fantastic event as always, there is just too many people to get around and meet everyone!
I'll drop Katie a message today and get the photos sorted, she was busy busy all day so hopefully there are some great shots...
Came back to it Sunday and had decided I wanted the engine back in come hell or high water so I had to swap out the rack for the rebuilt one from my white quadra, I can source and rebuild another for that one I guess! Pipes went back in OK this time.
Annoyed at the waste of time and...
Popped the slave on the bellhousing along with a new fork and a new bleed pipe and new release bearing
Then, in anticipation of refitting the engine on Sunday I put the steering hydraulic lines back in, and unfortunately as I tightened the back union the threaded segment broke out of the...
Prepping the subframe for fitting, the nuts and washers I replaced but the bolts were OK so I cleaned and greased them, then fitted the subframe bushes. The old large washers under a 36mm socket are perfect for this.
Then dropped the 'box on - it's easier to lift the subframe and box in...
I managed 41.2mpg out of mine on the Coventry>Dover leg of my LeMans jaunt this year. Mid-30's for the rest of it. My other Clio pictured with it below doesn't do that well on MPG, unsurprisingly
Considering they are both RenaultSport Clio's I don't think you could get cars that are more...
Centre console back in (god damn thing, you have to disconnect the handbrake cables to remove/refit it) and looking really good, very pleased.
Test drive No1 - I could hear something unsavoury out the window, like a brief regular scrape once per wheel rotation - quick nose at the back...
Machined, fitted, boot on. Old ABS target broke taking it off (and is too big) but I glued it on with spacers and tiger seal so I can prove it all works before I buy the new targets. If its OK I will buy another new CV for the other side, 2 ABS targets and change the other one when I pop the...
While I am prevented refitting the engine and box by the lack of a clutch I decided to drop the subframe and have a crack at making it less yuk.
Gave the vibration dampener a bath
Then spent an eternity cleaning off the sticky underseal grot off, and the greasy and oily build ups...
I've had it far too easy of late, it seems, and the car has decided to test my patience a little.
The plan was to take it to LeMans this year. I was aware however of a low rumbling appearing at the rear near side when cold which reduced when hot and resonance directly related to road speed -...
