I've fallen off my bike a few times and mine didn't bat an eyelid. Used a hammer and thought I fell over and was trying to contact my emergency contacts! Didn't realise it was doing this right until the last moment and managed to stop it.
Battery is still in the standard place, I haven't thought about moving it yet but might do one day. You are right it would free up loads of space. Actually had it out the ther day and without that and the front slam pannel it is quite spacious in there! The bracket thing where you have got yours...
You need to have the passenger switch plugged in on the drivers side to get the passenger switch to work on the passenger side. No idea why they thought that was a good idea
Progress has been slow, not helped with the bad weather and waiting on some parts.
A catch tank, PMS breather plate, fuel pressure regulator housing and new 4bar pressure regulator and a KTec fuel rail turned up
With a break in the weather yesterday and some help from my brother to fit the...
I need to mount my catch tank and struggling to get ideas.
I have removed the air box strap mounting thing by the battery so was thinking of adding a second bolt hole on the battery cover so it is a bit more sturdy and then putting the catch tank onto that somehow
Just had a look now and it...
Putting a new headlight on my E60, replacement didn’t come with any of the ballast stuff for the xenon’s. Not a problem the ones I have are still working so will swap them over…..however it won’t fit
Even the mounting points are wrong.
Quick google and I can’t find out what I need. The one I...
I spent my money on ITBs instead 🙃
Although I did look around for leadlights for my other car as they were broken and TYC came up a decent brand (the article I found online was replacing an E60 M5 headlights for TYC ones and they said the wuality was good for the price). So when I get around...
I had some that looked like Bosch Aero ones from the Range on an old beater I had many years ok. Were alright for what I paid for, which was about £5 per blade.
Amazing!
Looking at the bottom of the first spread sheet I just need to match the colours of the wires up….but my KTec TPS doesn’t have those colours (of course it doesn’t!!), it has green, red and black and not pink, grey and orange. Unless @barnesautos knows what the ph2 pin out on its TPS...
Which was does fuel flow into the rail?
Is it from left to right? So the FRP is at the exit of the rail?
As the FPR housing I have bought from PMS has a directional arrow on it so need it to be the right way around.
I don't really fancy priming the fuel pump with nothing connected to see which...
Thanks for taking a look, appreciate it. I’m tempted to just directly wire the loom to the sensor and make my own connector.
Do you know the wiring of the plug so I can cut mine about? Looks like there are more wires on the Ph2 plug.
Also KTec are trying to find a solution, have admitted it’s...
I just want to swap the loom plug for a Ph2 one to fit the new one Ktec have supplied. Their response was "The quickest solution is to cut the plug from your standard wiring loom and put in a Ph2 plug". So you are saying this can't be done? I just want to swap my top picture plug to whatever the...
I need to either splice a new throttle position sensor onto my Ph1 loom or swap the throttle position sensor from a Ph2 to my Ph1 loom. I am struggling to find a wiring diagram. Any help?
So I need to go from this Ph1 loom plug:
To this throttle position sensor:
I would prefer to use a...
Where did you have the hose thing to go to? As the standard one it goes to behind the butter fly valve in the throttle body. Is it just a vent? As I will be running a catch tank so could just pipe it to that.
My brother is about to turn up and he is going to help me choose the parts for the...
Felt a bit of two steps forward and one back today. Decided to take the throttle cable out ready for a new one only to be greeted with what looks like a hack job of refitting the arch liner. There was a random self tapping screw in the inner arch that looked like at one point held the liner in...
Been doing a bit of reading about uprated fuel rails as I am thinking about gettin the KTec Racing one for my Ph1 as I am in the process of fitting ITBs. I thought that I am upgrading the injectors and all that I might as well do the fuel rail too, and the standard one looks a bit pants next to...
This is better than the BMW engine me, my brother and step dad put in a Triumph 2000….we put an M20 from an E30 325i touring in a triumph 2000 and that was amazing.
I have noticed I am missing a bolt that holds the lower inlet manifold on, the one under the cam belt cover / engine mount
Anyone know what size it is so I can replace it?
How my Ph1 currently looks
Come early next year it will have added noise and be looking a bit smarter on the outside too when I paint the front bumper and have a go and trying to make it fit better.
Muggins here might have messed up the coil pack HT lead order 🤦♂️ I took photos of the engine before I started but foolishly not with the inlet off. I did label the HT leads with "gear box end" and "cam belt end" and didn't remove them from the coil pack when I took that off so I knew where...
I couldn’t resist fitting them. All just loosely bolted on as I no doubt will have to remove them to fit other stuff.
The question is do I run the filter that came with them. Or make some mesh inserts to fit between the trumpets and bodies to stop the larger debris entering the engine...
I DID A THING
yes I know it’s a simple job of removing the lower inlet but I haven’t really used spanner’s much for a long time. Aiming to fit the bodies on the block tomorrow for a trial fit. Still plenty to do.
Decided against paining the rocker cover this weekend. I couldnt get any...
What?! That’s not what I wanted to hear! Ok that’s settled then, it’s getting painted this weekend. Aiming to do the tarting up before the new year/early January and then fire it up in January. Still waiting for the ECU as they have had supply problems.
